In 1996, electric cars began to appear on roads all over California. They were quiet and fast, produced no exhaust and ran without gasoline...........Ten years later, these cars were destroyed.

GM produced the EV1 under a special program to get tax credits. Once the term ended they had no use for the cars as they were only ever built to get tax credits. It's all about numbers and $$$.
