Are any of you familiar with "words of peace"?
It is the work of Maharadji Prem Rawat, after being asked to help with the danish version of his website, we have been looking into his work and as I can see it this is a genuinly good man!
What do you others think?

And the website, he does sell his dvds but that subject has been up here before.
I dont feel he charges a lot and how is he going to travel around and do all these talks and seminars without funds?

Im interested in your oppinions (if they are relevant ofcourse)

He seems to have a good understanding of inner peace, which is something I have ranted about myself for a while. Without inner peace, life cannot be fully enjoyed. I will check out some more of his stuff.

Hi there, yes i have some experiance here. Prem Rawat is the human name of "Maraji, Lord of the universe". there's a long history of a large following there, starting with Prem Rawat's appearance on the western scene as a young boy guru from India in the 1960's

Collectively his devotees/followers are known as Premmies. And I dated one for six months!

There were problems, accusations of misuse of wealth (privite jets and so on), of abuse or mind control in ashrams, so in the 80's He split everything up and re organised himsefl as "prem Rawat in a suit". In addition, Prem Rawat would inevitably reccomend global unity, and his links to the UN would probably mean support for global government

In my time dating this lady who was a premmie, I saw quite a few videos, hung out with poeple. I never felt pressured to "join up": but then, I am me, I am my own source of happiness

Mostly Rawats teaching's are very heart chakral, he is certainly a powerful cosmic being: a man though, not a diety. He's also trying to tell his audience that they all are too: tbh, I did wonder if the premmies were a little dense in that respect. they tend to show signs of heart chakra energy cravings as well. But what the hey, don't we all? Nothing like a bit of love baby ;)

The key to becomming a premmie is learnign "the knowledge". This is kept very mysterious, premmies wil not say what the knowledge is to non-premmies (unless they know them well:) ) but essentially is a series of four breathing techniques that are to pracised whilst meditating

Cool as far as it goes, but it did not impress me, I generally dont go for the use of tools in order to be realised, they become crutches that slow one down rather than aids to life one up. I saw signs of emotional dependance on the practicsing of "the knowledge": if my premmie friend did not practise for more than two/three days then emotional she went a bit haywire: doesnt mean all that much of course, but she was a 20 year devotee. Had "the knowledge" artificially stabalised her so that emotionally she had issues she hadn't progressed from since her twenties? (yes, she was a bit older than me....)

So Prem Rawat: like him as a person on a stage: rest of it, dont know and not too bothered: I've put up the info I know to share with my fellow forumites, but have no axe to grind :I wouldnt bother creating one, hes done no harm to me

I checked out this guru a bit, and it seems that he has basically only one message and that is "inner peace is possible". The problem is I didn't find a rational explanation about why or how this inner peace is to be obtained. That made me suspicious. If attaining inner peace means throwing your rational mind out of the window, then to me that sounds like a teaching to dumb down people rather than to bring clarity.

Thanks for the input, yes I see your points, I am also very dubious about the concept of selling peace, if I felt I had "the keys" to inner peace for everyone Id shout it out from a mountaintop (metaphoricaly speaking).
I definetly wouldnt withhold this info from anyone for money.
But as a speaker I like him very much and his words ring true to me and make me reflect upon my self, I appreciate that!

I think he is saying that the fundamental desire in human beings is to feel inner peace, and that is why we should strive to obtain it I guess!

And if it is true what john white said that the "keys" that he is selling is essentially is a series of four breathing techniques that and meditating then thats a pretty rational way to obtain it I would say!
That is what got me a bit suspicious about his motives, because I think true peace cannot be rationally explained, it can only be felt or experienced.
Not that you have to throw your rational mind out the window , but I don't believe that is the tool with witch to attain inner peace and thus I dont know if the rational mind acctually needs to understand how!
