Do you see the Spirit Horse photo on the background to Ellis Taylor's site?

Unfortunately the pic has all rights reserved, but I think it's by Ellis himself. If you watch the page come up you can see the photo for a second before the text comes up.
Excellent artwork , love the stylized stuff , and the mural , i did my stepdaughters room for her in our old place heres a link to the pics

This one was really a kind of spell for a friends horse. Basically he had really hurt his leg and needed to be put to sleep. The distraught owner had agreed that the vet would come back the following morning and kill him. The horse wouldnt get up from the ground and had little hope.
I conunicated with the horse and he expressed a desire to live so then I offered to draw him for her with an intent for his recovery and she looked at me as if i was bonkers but was also ready to give anything a go so she said "yes"
I drew this with the intent that the spirit guardian of the horse was protecting him from entering the death state. I really focused my intent whilst drawing it.
The next morning the horse was on its feet, withing 24 hours he was eating again. He survived against all odds and againsts the vets prediction.
I offered the picture the the owner, she looked at me abit strangley and out of politeness said "oh....erm, yes". But I would like to think it had an impact. :o

Many years ago I used to be a professional mural painter and this is a commision from a client who owned a crystal shop. It was her Idea to include the glowing piramid so plese folks, please dont think im into drawing illuminati symbols... when your getting paid for it, you have to do what the client says...which is the reason i dont do it any more. It was too stiffeling to creativity.

Thanks Lime lady. I think they are very spiritual and they have taught me so much in terms of humility and generosity. Given their size and strength and how easly they can over power us. they let us put metal in their mouths and saddles on their backs and they let us ride them. They are amazing creatures.

These are my last equine paintings im gonna post for now (until I do some more that is) they are pet portraits I did for a while to make some extra cash.
I dont like thses quite as much as they stifled my creativity and I found that instead of looking forward to painting horses I began to dread it... not a good vibe, so i stopped painting artwork on a comission basis, unless it was of an abstract concept and the cleint lets me run riot with my imagination.
Even though they are photographs of photocopys and you cant see the brush stroke detail and clarity, i think you can tell these images dont have the same passion behind them?

Removed pics to shorten the post soz , but i know what you mean , they are very good but the passion needs to be there to create , it gives life to the paintings .I cant produce when i have to as compared to feeling it then i know i can do it .I have done that with most of my stuff suddenly , eve at 4 in the morning .In fact ipainted the wizard pic with two shelves running along the wall , my girlfriend was out for the night and had all my tools screwdrivers etc in the van so i couldnt take them down , but i didnt want to lose the moment so i did it around them and finished it off later when i could remove them

Yes, I know what your saying. If ones creativity is stifled then it shows in the artwork itself.
I found that when people paid me money to paint their precious pets it took the essence of what I was trying to create away.
I think when the concept of money is used to "buy" creativity it can (temporarily) suck it dry. I know because I was a textile designer for a large company for 5 years. During that time I was so washed out from being "forced" to create on a daily basis, I never painted or made drawings in my own private time.

What an inspiring thread and beautiful artwork.:)
But I know what you mean about having your creativity sucked dry by commercialism...
I have a small business designing & making equestrian apparel. But I have put it on hold for a couple of years, for precisely the same reason.

It reminds me of a time I got called out late at night to see if I could offer any energetic or spiritual support whatsoever, for yet another little white horse...
He was down on the floor, in great pain and dying of compacted colic. The vet had done all that was humanely possible. There was only two 'logical' explanations left....
Number one was instant death, number two was to hoist him sideways into a horsebox and travel him, stressfully, for hundreds of miles, before surgery.
I am not a vet, nor do I charge money. I can only go from intuition & spiritual guidance. The owner asked me for help....
What I could see was trapped energy above his spine area,
Minutes later, he stood up, let out a *very* long ,slow exhalation of breath, which I interpreted to be a sign of great relief.
This was many years ago, I'm pleased to report that he's still ok now, healthy, happy and enjoying his retirement:)

Thank you very much and yes, I couldn't agree more, it's all about switching off from the news and the electronic 'control' grid & getting back out there in nature and nurturing our dreams!
I personally believe that nature is our true teacher.
A friend of mine asked me a few weeks ago, if I had ever considered writing a book, because I have experienced a lifetime of so called 'miracles', particularly around horses...
Actually, I have to admit, that no, I hadn't given this this any conscious consideration whatsoever, as it seems so perfectly natural to me.
But, Perhaps.... she may have a point?

Hi Hagbard, what did you see?
Oh...Please do share with us precisely What you saw HC
On the journey to the last Probe event we attended in order to support Matthew Delooze and Neil Hague. A song suddenly came over on the car radio. It was a song, which I haven't heard since I was a child... "Snowy white horses" and at that precise moment a white jeep overtook us. On the rear wheel cover was a white horse!
I was sitting in a local park at about 5AM in January 1989 waiting for my girlfriend Jenny; we planned to go jogging. Then I suddenly heard a noise of hootbeats close by. I looked over and three horses were walking along in single file. They had nobody with them and no bridles or saddles. Then I noticed that they didn't look quite solid but appeared to be transulcent and of a colour I'd never seen before; it was as if they were made of smoke (a bit like the ghost boy I saw in my bedroom q.v). I watched them as they walked out of the park, crossed the road by a roundabout and made their way down another road down a hill out of sight. Nobody was around at the time, but Jenny was close by and saw them too. I wasn't really scared, but she was deeply disturbed. She refused to talk about it after that and ended our relationship the following week. It really freaked her out! I wonder if anyone else saw them. It was early in the morning, but the roads are quite busy ones.

I wasn't really scared, but she was deeply disturbed. wow, thats spooky. hope these spirit horses didnt aid to the break up of your relationship. Thanks for sharing it.

Yeah I remember those long hot summer mornings that seemed to last forever........ the other TV program I remember being on with White Horses was The Flashing Blade, that had a horse sequence at the start and the music was cool.....well it was to an 8 year old....:D..... I remember watching these two TV programs every day during the summer holidays when I was a youngster......:D

Indeed it is an amazing place 2013. Many people have formed wonderful friendships here with others, and there have been complete life changes and relocations to other countries for some. I even know of three people who have met and formed really important relationships here....in one case they met their "soul mates".....thats 6 happy people straight off the bat, and I am sure there are many others too!
This is why I tend to get a little peeved when from time to time we have somebody spouting off about what a "crap" forum this is etc. Normally its somebody disgruntled who has ignored our posting guidelines and has come to our attention, but still it tends to lower the energy when you read things like that. :D
While it would be unrealistic to think its everybody's cup of tea, most people appreciate the significance of having this forum maintained as a place to meet up with and chat to like-minded others, and when I read threads like this one, it reminds me that even on a 'bad day' when you just can't seem to please some people, its all worthwhile. :)
How awesome would it be if quester and jojo got their heads together to do a book?
But no pressure hehehe :D

Hi JoJo, one of the most enjoyable Threads I have ever perused. I would have stopped by sooner but I was busy 'Tending' my Alligator Pit.
Anyways, though a 'Born & Raised' citiboy, I love Horses. I don't put much credence in Astrology(ducks), that said, I am a Pisces/Horse.
anyways, when I was in Texas mnay moons ago, I was provided with an Arabian Mare!! Her name is Nellie!!
and authentic 'Cowboys' taught me how to Ride, without a Bit!!
Well, it took awhile to learn how to ride without smashing my you know whats, (i'm a guy), but once I learned, I'll never forget 'The Moment', Galloping across the Prarie like I was on a Magic Carpet, Smooth! Breezy!! It was a Real Blast!!!
What a Friend the Horse has been to Humankind, the Horse has helped to carry our Load along the Path.
Thanx to you and all who have contributed, the Horse is indeed a Great Muse!! Excellent work!!

Hi Snoops! I also ride my horse without a bit! and in full agreement with everything you said about how magical it feels when your galloping.
Civalisation has been born on the back of a horse. It never ceases to amaze me that such a powerfull, intelligent creature, one that could easly EASILY overpower us, lets us ride it, race it, jump it and pull vehicles for us.
a true inspiration
Unfortunately I think Jenny did feel a bit put off by a bloke who attracts supernatural forces, but dyma'r bywyd.

Thank you Jo Jo. The energy in your artwork is absolutely breathtaking and I sincerely appreciate your kind offer.
I'm currently struggling with the concept of how the horse is said to perceive the human to be the ultimate predator. I'm really not entirely convinced by this
school of thought.
However, the formulation of thoughts into words may prove to be somewhat challenging, probably due to fact that I have bounced on my head, on a number of occasions :)

I also agree that are domesticated horses dont see humans like me and you as preditors.
however I think the less enlightened owner Who put painful metal in their mouths which exurt severe pressure on their tongues and then tie their mouths shut with straps and gags. who use whips and spurs to make them jump scary objects and gallop way beyond their natural range in the wild. I think these equines see humans as strange unhelpful preditors. Some even think that they we are going to kill and eat them.
As for bouncing on your head lol, Has that been caused by falling off these wonderful creatures? I ask because I have often fallen off on my head! this is what makes me a little bit bonkers i feel! lol. They have also broke my spine and caused severe internal bruising... but I still love them and could never imagine my life without their presence or grace.
The offer of illustrating your book is always open. No matter how long it takes you to formulate your stories into written words. :D

But to answer your question
Do I feel that you are 'bonkers'? Absolutely not!
Strangely enough, I was going to reply to this posting last night and for whatever reason, halfway through typing a reply, i must have left the computer on and running, gone to sleep and experienced yet another amazing dream :) a dream which included a joint book signing:)

You reminded me of one of my foster parents, and i felt a warmth in my heart, He helped a horse that at birth was close to death he rigged a sling and took good care for him for a year, me and that horse became close his name was M***a he was part Morgan and Quarter, He was a runt but he was fast, i remember one time he was bording i think a thorobred named Exxxxxxxxse, welll ya know how boys can be, i took M***a, his grandson took Exxxxxxxxe and we were off it was incredible, Moca had no problem, i think he enjoyed the thrill of the challenge, he grew up that way, and we all can learn from a horse i learned a challenge doesnot have to churn destructive.
I knew you had a TRUE Gifts:)Your art shows your love, the one you painted for your son, and the one you did for the horse speaks of, two very beutiful Gifts being expressed......i often wished that art wasnt hijacked by religion, i believe that art was intended to be a expresion of love,(sometimes it expresses the dark seen, and other times the great beuty of Life)i want you to know that seeing your work and the love put inoto it, helps to Heal.
That is what i found in the way of the Lakota The true expresion of spirituality
is art, wether it be by paint or medicine, vision, healer, teacher, spiritual teacher, warrior, spirutal warrior, etc. and you have healed a horse you are a healer imagine takeing what you have done and expressed it Spiritualy there is no higher calling than gifts like this, as they say as above so below, well if the basic concept of spituality is a circle ,wether it be karmic, cause and effect, sin, good deads, intent, etc then this meens as Above is Below as Below is Above. In my Humble observations albeit at time's about to realy go insane and realy ragefull(an insane responce to an unhealthy inviroment)....
Thank you for you Healing ways jojo and for becomeing part of my healing process, just wanted you to know, and share a little about how i see these things help all. Didnt mean to be so wordy... Its bin years of healing. " Being somewhat quite:rolleyes:"

Thanks so much, Bill

Yes jojo, both mine. Pug photography is another passion of mine. I have been blessed to have 3 of the cutest ones in the known universe and have literally 15,000 or more pics of them. Yes I'll let you know about my art. Gonna share your link with my wife as we speak. Thanks again jojo for sharing such cool stuff!
Hi JoJo, this is a brilliant healing and inspiring thread, I love some of your work and have saved it to my computer (I hope you don't mind+I would never use them in any copyright infringement way) I think some of them would be brilliant tatoos, or I can see them on flags, it's great to have the gift/talent of creativity, mine is a bit inert, but seeing your work and other positve people helps to get the creative juices flowing a bit.
I was wondering have you ever read a book called Epona The Horse Goddess by Morgan Llywelyn?
It's a really good book, can't explain it, but try and read it if you can, one of those 'fictional' books that have a lot of spiritual truths in them.
Thanks for cheering me up:)

Hello jojo, i like your drawing (Exspecialy the pencil drawings). Horse is the Shaman symbol for power, Horse is still Honerd, highly-prized, and respected today. We still measure engines in "Horse-power" a constant reminder just how powerful and Special they are. Only horse could take on the responsibility of carrying, goods, materials, medicines, and messages on it's back. horse also makes, otherwise impossable journeys possable.
Here's a little story about some horse's and a shaman.
Dreamwalker, a medicine man, was walking across the plains to visit the Arapaho Nation.
He carried with him his pipe, the feather tied into his long black hair pointed to the ground, marking him as a man of peace.
Over the rise on a hill, Dreamwalker saw a heard of Mustings running towards him.
Black stalion approached him, and asked if he was seeking an answer on his journey.
Black stallion said" I am from the Void where Answers live, ride on my back and know the power of entering the darkness and finding the light." Dreamwalker thanked Black stallion and agred to visit him when his medicine was needed in dreamtime.
Yellow stallion approached Dreamwalker next and offerd to take him to the east, where illumination lives.
Dreamwalker could share the answers he found there to teach and illuminate others.
Once again Dreamwalker thanked Yellow stallion and said he would use these gifts of power on his journey.
Red stallion appoached, rearing playfully.
He told dreamwalker of the joys of balencing work, and heavy medicine, with the joyful experiences of play.
He reminded Dreamwalker that he could hold the attention of those he taught better, when humor was intergrated with the lesson.
Dreamwalker thanked Red stallion and promised to remember the gift of Joy.
Dreamwalker was nearing his destination, when White Stallion came to the front of the heard, and climbed upon White stalion's back.
White stallion was the message carrier for all the other horses, and represented Wisdom in power.
This magnificent horse was the embodiment of the balenced medicine sheld.
"No abouse of power will ever lead to wisdom, said White stallion"
You Dreamwalker, have made this journey to heal the Mother Earth". You have the Knowlage through humility that you are an instrument of Great Spirit.
As i carry you upon my back you carry the needs of the people on yours.
In wisdom, you understand that power is not givin lightly but,
is a responsibility, in a balenced manner,"
Dreamwalker the shaman had been healed by the visit form the wild horses, and knew that his purpose in going to the Arapaho was to share these Gifts with the people.
In understanding the true power Horse, we may be able to see how to strive for a balenced medicine shield.
True power, is wisdom, that comes from remembering the path ways you, have walked in someone elses shoes.
Compassion, caring, teaching, loving and sharing your gifts, talents, and abilites are the gateway to power.

im not so into horses , but do apreciate and respect them .
no offense to others but i do love seeing horses running free , there isnt really a more better expression of freedom in the wilderness i can think of than a herd of wild horses roaming the medows etc .
i remember a dream i once had of a white horse galloping up the me in the dark.
it sniffed about abit as stood next to me , and then trotted away .
i can clealy remember that 2 weeks later i had a premotion .
when ever i think of horses or dream of them , only good happens .
:D
Thank you The comuter for posting that wonderful info on the shamanic aspect of the horse in dreamtime. I didnt know that the horse was the shamanic aspect of power, but i can see why. They are such powerful creatures. strong and swift, yet they let us ride them. I often wonder why they do?
Humans in general are very cruel to horses, without even knowing it. we put metal instrument (some which are terrible in the pain they inflict) in their mouths. They alow us to make them jump over very high objects while galloping at speed for far longer than they would in nature. we keep them in alone small concrete boxes (stables) which goes against all their natural instincts to wander and roam freely as a herd. humans whip them, dig their side with spurs, tie them down with ropes and chains. strap their mouths shut so they cant open them which would give them some confort from the painful bits we put in their mouths. the list goes on and on.... Its a testiment to their grace and humility that many people are not killed by horses on a daily basis.
I am currently training to be an equine healer, It is my wish to address the suffering these noble creature experience daily at the hands of humans.

there goes the # sequences again, weird reminds me of that matrix type stuf woops guese i just change it again. wonder what 121 is or 13:rolleyes:i like 13 baktun or that 13 is a # of regeneration/life, death then life again, kinda like a resurection sequence, maybe that is why the church tried to make 13 an unlucky #, unlucky for the church maybe because if Christ's true teaching's of his resurection were shared and explored by the masses, the church's preist would would be forced to loose there sic desires, and conform to the will of the people to know True freedom without the tyrany of some sicko hiding behind the garb of a preist or pope... woops almost went on a rant again.:rolleyes:if it wasnt for George Carlins wisdom of humor i might take myself way to seriously and become a politician:cool:

I was at an obscure circle either in cornwall or dartmoor i cant remember now,
It was a roasting heat haze day and we were chilling in the shade of some stones after a while 9 0r 10 wild ponies arrived on the scene, chose a stone each and had a good old rub and grooming session in the middle afterwards......oblivious to our presence,,,it was a very strange sight to see a circle of horses around the stones getting in to one lol.......i kicked myself for not having a camera that day .
i bet that was a nice view... were they scratching their arses on the stones? :D
thats why i like to draw, cuz if you dont have a camera then you can always sketch it later on...

A Message From the Spirit of the Horse–a poem by Linda Tellington Jones
You seeth not what stands before the eyes,
It is time that you spoke for us,
We need your voices,
We take heart that many are awakening to our needs.
We are united as one.
We sing the song of the spheres.
We ground your beings into the earth
And through us we connect you to the stars.
You wonder why you feel good when you touch us - lean into us.
It is because we connect you to the stars.
See us - we sacrifice ourselves to your blindness,
And never give up hope that you will awaken,
And we will be released from our suffering.
Our ancestors had more hope.
Some of you see the sunrise when you ride us - feel the trees.
But how many of you feel the stream of light that flows
Between us when we carry you on our backs?
Our connections breathe life into your lifeless bodies.
See us once again as brothers.
We are here to serve as mirrors - so that you, mankind
can find your way back to the stars.
to the source that serves for us all.
Our molecular structure is one.
Know your power, mankind.
When you see us as one with you,
then you will know your strength.
We love you - We are one with all beings,
We are a vehicle for that knowingness of Oneness.
Hear ye the cries of the rooster,
Mankind must awaken,
He may no longer sleep.
thanks for the poem. linda tellington jones has invented a type of massage for horses called T Touch. im learning about it at the moment. :)

Jojo, your work is amazing - it has taken my breath, and i love your mirror one here...
i've not really had the chance to comune much with the horse, though i have a great admiration for their beauty and coiled power and serenity and you capture all these qualities and more so well.
i have always wanted to speak with horses, it has, sinse childhood years been a tinder of something i have yet to light and realise properly, i feel that i have more of a connection with the wolf and dog and dog whispering (although the term itself bothers me a little - there doesn't seem to be any verbal thing, let alone whispering, going on!) is something that i have always been able to do - i would love to work in the same way with horses. Dog's don't tend to speak much as they don't have that many concearns - i imagine the horse to be a fountain of wisdom, and it would be an honour to be allowed to share that.
i do have a white horse / unicorn / pegasus guide who has such a wonderfull energy and is often linked with the godess, as in one of your earlier posts - do you do commissions - it would be lovelly to have a canvas representation :-)

yes, i know what you mean. horse training and dog training are similar on many levels (i do both too) the main difference is dogs are preditors and horses pray animals. both very dangerous in different ways if they respond to stimulus with their natural urges. I prefer to use the word "listening" when im with the horses rather than whispering.
Horses are very knowledgeable and if your still, centered and radiate love when your around them they do indeed share with you their wisdom and love :) they also heal people on a profound soul level. new research is being done (using heart, brain and electrical sensors) where people with traumatic problems are placed with a horse for an hour or so and the person and horse both slow heart rates, blood pressure, brain wave activity and chill hormones are released in the brain.

What is "T touch"?
I might google it in a sec.
I would love to be an animal Reiki healer.
Always wanted to work with animals, but jobs are so few and far between.
Couldn't go into the medical profession as I'm too squeamish!
I might get Reki attunements once I've got my financial situation sorted....although I do think Reiki is something we already possess....I think it would help my confidence to take the actual classes.

My springer was a mischievous, charismatic little soul. He was called Jasper but I nicknamed him "Willy" because I thought he was silly and it suited him. :D
He used to suckle on cushions for comfort, I think because he lost his mother when he was just a small puppy. I wish I had a picture of him with his cushion, my mum has one or two....it was just adorable.
He used to like barking and chasing things which ran away from him, but he would run away if they chased him. :D
Oh....lots of funny memories. I remember he always had a cute little piece of fur on his head that would stand up. And he was probably the soppiest, most affectionate dog I've ever met.
The other dog was a collie cross called Rosie....she had beautiful eyes. An adorable, neurotic little soul (my mum got her from an animal shelter). She used to like going on fox trails and had selective hearing. She also liked doing "ring-a-roses" when excited.
Both dogs were frightened of hot air balloons and would find their way all the way back to the house if they went out on the walk and saw one....we'd spend ages searching for them and find them in the end, perched on the doorstep. :D

its a physical healing therapy. it involves using your hand to make small circular motions on the skin which seems to realease all kinds of physical and emotional pains. it like it alows the body to facilitate its own healing.

reiki is just that, something we all posess - reiki attunements help us to understand it a little better and how we can best work with the ability stored within :-)
Reiki is a wonderful energy, perfectly attuned to working with animals who accept it so readily :-)

I have 2 horses, a QH and an appaloosa and 2 dogs and a cat. Like you Horses have always been one of my great passions in life.
Have you ever done any oils? i have a big 3x4' oil of an appaloosa in my office and I've never gotten tired of it - so much dignity, majesty, yet humility.
A comment on horse and dog `whispering'. After many years I am beginning to understand how to communicate this way. You see, both dogs and horses communicate with their BREATH, very soft hmmmpfs, grunts, snorts, whines, almost out of earshot. Scientists recently discovered that elephants can communicate for MILES with a deep rumbling that is beyond the scope of the human ear!
There is a whole dimension of animal communication that we can't even hear. Dogs are much easier to understand than horses, they are more audible. For example, my dog (the hound) runs up from behind and dashes by me, running free on the trail, hmmp hmmp HMMMM she says with her breath as she passes at top speed - it's like - `Here I come Pack Leader, I am here, isn't this great!' she's telling me her joy, her excitement of being on the HUNT.
When my dog is lying down, if I put my head down touching her head she does this barely audible soft grunt whining - I wouldn't be able to hear it if my ear wasn't resting on the side of her head. She is responding to my love, telling me of her affection for me and we are both exchanging energy with each other.
I remember the day I bought my QH from my trainer. I said - I just learned about horse whispering - it really works! She kind of blew me off and I said look I'll show you. Ranger was kind of gazing off in the distance and I gave this tiny soft little snort, hmmpf - he jerked his head to look at me, suddenly I had his complete and total attention. There was this look in Ranger's eyes, this recognition - She SAID something.
The more you listen the more you hear and then find yourself imitating these sounds.
I had this uncanny feeling - kinda like Planet of the Apes where the human hero speaks to the apes and they are dumbfounded because humans are too `dumb' to speak. :D

Hi Drakul
Sounds like you are getting the hang of it :-)
i miss that energy, we used to have three shephards, and walking with them on the moors and in the woods was amazing - that energy as they swept past, you just reminded me of that :-) thank you.
i look back and i see how they really spoke to me when they were ill, Blue came up to me one evening with his i want to go outside look, i opened the door out onto the garden and he stood in the open doorway and looked up at me and i just knew that he was going ouitside to die. He was being a little more quiet than normal, but didn't seem as though he was ill. So we had a chat and he told me that he had a distended stomach, and so we went to the vets and he came home again a few days later :-) When he got out the car at the vets, this was at 11 o clock at night and the vet was on call out, she said that he didn't have a distended stomach as he wouldn't be running around like he was, and that he should be in a lot of pain, but he did have, and he wasn't! Bless him.
And it was the same with all three of them, they really spoke when they were ill, but i kinda missed all those times that they spoke while out walking, so thankyou for reminding me of that
blessings to you :-)

I'm very touched. Reminds me of my old dog that got run over at age 11...right in front of me. Really terrible. Their lives are so very short - but in exchange for that they get to LIVE every day to the fullest, no holding back.

yes, i was only thinking that the other day. about the sounds dogs and horses make with their breath. i make soft grunting noises to my horses and a soft nickering noises they make when they see a friend, or a mare makes to her foal. (as apposed to the loud nickering noise they make when they see you with a feed bowl!) its sort of low and gutteral, in the back of your throat. I spend many hours just being with my horses in the field and shelter, just sitting with them and being. (i no longer ride them as one is too old now and the other becomes violent when you try and "train" him to do anything other than follow you in a halter and rope.) they trully are most magical creatures. you can understand why mythology dipicts them with wings and a horn.
make dog makes loud breaths/snorts/grunts too. especially when we are having a cuddle. i also repeat the noises back to him and he then makes more noises back.
my cat also meaws and squeeks to me when i speak to him... its like we have a conversation!
so they do whisper to you. :)
if you have any pegusus pictures / paintings jojo, can you please post, would love to see them :-)
only this one. It was a mural i painted back in 2000 for a crystal shop window display back drop. Its about 7ft high and the horse is about the hight of an 11h pony.

i was asked to take a look at a horse this weekend, an old shire lad who was apparently getting stressed. All his feet were dirty and his owner was saying how difficult it is to keep him clean. When i got there he was really excited, and seemed so affectionate and friendly, we had a chat in the field that had been segregated off to keep other horses in by the farmer, and for an old horse he really was full of life. All he wanted was for the field to be opened up a little so he had more space and for someone to come see him every day, he was a really nice old boy. His owner is going to move him to a bigger paddock with a large stabled area, with other horses there as well and he really liked that idea :-)
Reminded me that i have always wanted a shire, although my old dream of having one revolved around having one of the old gypsy caravans and just wending around england for a few years :) And then, when i had kinda grown up a bit, i thought that it perhaps wasn't such a great idea for the horse, pullin me around all day
Reminded myself though how wonderful they are to be around, if only for an hour or so. I don't know if they trust as implicitly as dogs do, but they are very powerful beings ;)

Shires are very amicable creatures. gentle giants (in general) if he is alone in a filed he will be very depressed and stressed out. They are herd animals and only feel safe in the company of other horses. So im glad that he is being moved. :)
They dont trust like dogs do. with a horse, they will only take so much off a human before they react. But if you can befriend them and they learn how to trust you (remember humans are preditors, horses are prey animals) they have huge hearts and can really lift a humans spirit.

Hmm, herd animals, makes sense. As we were talking he showed me his thoughts of running in a field with other horses.
i think he's being moved there this week, and i'm speaking with his owner on wednesday so will be keeping a check on things :)

Thats good news then :) he will be far happier with other horses. they get so stressed on their own as there are no other herd members to look out for "danger" the lone horse is a target for wolves and other perditors.
plus they are really social too (like humans) when placed in solitary confinement, they can become very isolated within their minds.
Im glad your there, looking out for him merlincove :)

hopefully i'll be able to get over to see him over the next few days, but so far things are looking well, which is nice, and i can kinda feel his happiness as i write, that he is home, kinda welling me up d'oh
one of my friends is getting over to see him this next week to give him a crystal healing / reiki, so he will enjoy that, he does respond well to reiki - and she's asked if i can come along for moral support :-)

Just as a note, the shire' is fine, he has settled in really nicely, apprently he tries to play catchup with some of the other horses while they are playing, and they all come over and make a fuss of him, and he dances. I've not seen it, just what i've been told :D
He responds well to reiki, and i gave him some while i was brushing him last week. There was some worry about his lower leg being sore (front one), but that has been seen to and it is as good as new now  So two thumbs up for him.
And he has even been getting on with the farm dogs, lol.
oww, thats good news about the big shire! nice to hear a happy ending. :)

Have you been to itchycoo park lately , It's all too beautiful :D
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VJzcF0v1eOE
Over the Bridge of Sighs
To rest my eyes in shades of green
Under Dreaming Spires
To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been
(Chorus 1)
What did you do there? - I got high
What did you feel there? - Well I cried
But why the tears there? - I'll tell you why - yyyyy
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
(Bridge)
I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
I'll tell you what I'll do - What will you do?
I'd like to go there now with you
You can miss out school - Won't that be cool
Why go to learn the words of fools?
(Chorus 2)
What will we do there? - We'll get high
What will we touch there? - We'll touch the sky
But why the tears there? I'll tell you why
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful

Wow, JoJo, I had no idea that the art in your avatars was your own work until this thread.
You are a truly stunningly talented artist. Very impressed!

Another fuckin stunner there JJ, saved to my cpu - it well in-keepin with style that. :)
...And the bowls, do you have to put some sort of protective layer on it to be eating friendly. Cause all that was going through my head was a spoon scrapin it and green paint coatin all yer teeth...
