You say, "These are sculptures!" but you give no indication of how you feel about them except for the exclammation point which is rather ambiguous.
I however find them quite intrugueing. Stripping humanity down to its essence really and showing what people, regular people look like.
In Greece this was a very rare practice. Most sculptures were in your face fabulous looking hero or goddess types. I have only seen one statue of an older woman from Greece.

As part of a thread revival programme, I've revived the oldest thread in this section. Curiously it is about sculpture, as I studied sculpture at St Martins college (seriously!)....

Look at the veins in the feet and the dry skin on the elbows and knees!

i feel that we have enough new threads on the forum (6 pages a day, apparently*) without having a >two year old topic bumping worthy material down the lists.

Even though these sculptures are intensely awesome, imo spamming the forum with two year old trivia (no disrespect to the OP intended :D) is a needless diversion to today’s issues.
