WASHINGTON (AP) -- The peak of the next sunspot cycle is expected in late 2011 or mid-2012 -- potentially affecting airline flights, communications satellites and electrical transmissions. But forecasters can't agree on how intense it will be.

They're calling this a SOLAR PEAK, but I'm wondering if it shouldn't read "...Right in the center of the Photon Belt in 2011-2012"

Ready or not, its going down. They say the next cycle starts in March of next year, right when they are starting end game and id cards and much much more. It is all starting (yeah right, its has been making sense for sometime) to all come together.

agreed but I'd like to be able predict the effects more precisely

The Mayans predicted it thousands of years ago. They had the superior mathematics to know, the next time the stars line up in a certain fashion, the "end" (or rebirth) of the world will occur, and that date is December 21, 2012.

it's quite likely passing through the photon belt will trigger solar flares. but they're not going to mention any thing about the belt, now, are they? ;)
i think we got a little taste of the p.b. in december. one of the biggest flares ever hit in the second and third weeks of december. and, that's when the first recent reports of bees disappearing started to surface.
imo, when we hit the belt full broadside, we'll begin to see the dna emitting photonic light, and based on the color and intensity of the frequency emitted, your average john q. public may start seeing things like this:

Thats funny, I was so angry in December starting somewhere in the middle of the month, a very odd feeling, as I am usually quite peacefull. I was angry at everything and everything was a big job, then it kinda faded in january and I was able to see that something had been going on, I wonder if it had anything to do with the sunflares
Hmmm

What's a Solar maximum & when will the next one be?

As a community, solar physicists are still undecided on the best way to predict solar activity. The plot, above, is a summary of 40 different forecasts (http://www.sec.noaa.gov/SolarCycle/SC24/April_16_2007_table.pdf) none of which agree in detail. The confusion won't last forever. As Cycle 24 unfolds, the sun itself will tell us which is correct.
Researchers were able to agree on one thing: Solar activity is entering a period of deep minimum. Based on declining sunspot numbers and other factors, the cycle should hit rock bottom in March 2008 (http://www.sec.noaa.gov/SolarCycle/SC24/Statement_01.html) +/- six months.

OH,
that sounds interesting
Have you got some more info, on that?
