Came across this documentary the other day about how animals are brutally and sadistically tortured, held captive and slaughtered inhumanely beyond belief for food and mankinds materialistic needs. And also RIPps apart the fantasy that kosher and halal slaughter causes less suffering to the animal.
Heres the text that goes with doc on google vid:::::
EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers." The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby. With an in-depth study into pet stores, puppy mills and animals shelters, as well as factory farms, the leather and fur trades, sports and entertainment industries, and finally the medical and scientific profession, EARTHLINGS uses hidden cameras and never before seen footage to chronicle the day-to-day practices of some of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals, and human economic interests. There are many worthy animal rights films available, but this one transcends the setting. EARTHLINGS cries to be seen. Highly recommended!
I can't force anyone to watch this video, but if I had the power to do so I would make every breathing human being watch every last second. This is by far one of the most profoundly important pieces of film ever made and should be spread far and wide... Please do your bit to make it happen...
Here's the link PLEASE WATCH...

I am compassionate, I always surge when I see people crying or in misfortune, I never laugh at stupid clips that show people or animals falling over or injuring themselves and I have a friend that does, You can imagine how smart he is(nt):D
i beleive alot of people most people think they are compassionate but in reality they would rather turn away and pretend such atrocities do not exist .. hence why they still exist cos humans alllow it

Have you even read the post!?
I wasnt asking a question pointed towards a singlular person I meant humanity as a whole. Because we are ALL responsible for animal suffering, most of us may not be harming them but we are contributing to these dispicable goings on by letting it happen.

Too true izzy.
Most people would rather not have to look (out of sight out of mind) at the reality of animal suffering and sweep it under the rug, cuz ignorance is bliss right!

This was not an easy documentary to sit through.
My partner and I are vegetarians and have vegan tendencies but last night while viewing, we decided to commit to veganism full stop.
For those who haven't seen the vid posted above, I suggest getting it and getting through it, hard as it may be. You might come out a different person. I sure as hell did...
The film stated there are 19 thousand animals that die each minute for vivisection (aka scientific "research") ALONE! Are these animals' sufferings impinging on the flow of energy in the universe? If all of this uncompassionate pain is being inflicted on such large scales, I would say this planet is emitting an extremely sick vibe. Going down that rabbit hole really gets me down. But still, we musn't just ignore these things because they are unpleasant. If no one objects to this out right genocide, it will carry on forever.

Yep. And Ive seen many vids like what you describe. But compassion starts with yourself, you cant force it onto others, but others will follow suit because of energy transfer and if you show them thats how its done.
You cant sit on the sidelines saying 'thats disgusting' and do nothing. As it is a positive vibration to love and feel for other beings and we are all part of the same conscious energy field, it would make sense that you need to do your part and it will start having a 100-monkey/snowball effect the more of us keep doing it.
Ie, you have to preach love, wisdom and tolerance, if you want to see it manifest, because how are they going to know? We create our own reality as the sayning goes.
On the physical side.. you can get out there and be part of a protest or action group , but these is the potential for negative propaganda from the usual places.
I wasnt asking a question pointed towards a singlular person I meant humanity as a whole.
Well I cant answer for them yet, were not all telepathically linked ;) I must answer for me, its all I can do. This is the type of place that allows feedback, so why are you confused Im giving some, even if its what you wanted?
Unless you start a poll, you will only get a collection of individual responses here.

well done and good luck!
myself and my partner are very similar. i am a life long veggie and he saw the light just over a year ago. i've now stopped buying all products that are tested on animals, leather, wool, silk, and am now starting to change my diet accordingly. i seem to have done it backwards, but i just hope to get there. there are loads of sites that give information on which companies test on animals etc, if you need any info i will try to help.
i will watch this video tonight and my partner's home. i find things like this way too much to watch alone.

I'd love to get some links if you've got them readily available.
I want nothing to do with the animal industries. Being a vegetarian, I was always slightly uneasy with dairy/eggs. I thought it rather exploitative of animals, so I stuck to eating organic, vegetarian cheese. But as of last night, I have decided not to even bother with that. The dairy and egg industries are cruel and invariably interlinked with the meat industry. I don't want to give these psychopaths any money at all.
So, yeah, if you've got any sites listing which companies are animal friendly, post em up. I promise to make good use of them!

Pleased to hear it :), I intend to convert fully to vegetarianism, I initially thought about eating only organic meat but since watching the vid about kosher slaughter contributing to more suffering than conventional slaughter, I thought to myself "how can I be so sure that organic meat isn't a complete piss-take aswell"!
I know It will be difficult to convert to vegetarianism as I have tried and failed before, but since watching the vid I know its something I have to do. For years now I have felt that everytime I eat any meat, yes its tastes good and everything but soon after I feel guilty and intuitionionally bad. I understand by eating meat I am conflicting myself, my internal knowing.

i know what you mean about the unease - i began to feel very hypocritical as i moaned about the meat industry whilst i walked around with a calf leather handbag. veganism seems like a natural progression for me but it's so hard.

i'm not sure whereabouts in the world you are, but this is great if you're in the uk, as it lists just about every shop here. there are a few on the internet but i found this was the most extensive and the easiest to follow.
you can also easily find on google a list of all ingredients which are animal derivatives or chemicals which are tested on animals, but i personally find checking the ingredients too time consuming so opt for animal friendly companies only.
http://www.buav.org/pdf/C3CosmeticsBluffersGuide.pdf
this has some useful information on what it really means when companies claim they do not test on animals, etc.
both of these are definitely worth printing and keeping to hand, especially as you get used to checking.
good luck and i hope you do well!!

Hey guys, don't give up the switch to vegetarian!
It was so much easier than I thought it would be.
Here's typically some of the things we like to eat in my house:
Stir fry with ginger, hot chilis, soy sauce, red wine, onion, pepper, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, carrots, broccoli....and rice noodles
Sweet cherry tomato sauce with pasta (lots of pasta is vegan and not pricey at all!!!)
Mexican burrito with refried beans, roasted or fried veg, citrus-tomato salsa, brown rice, and grated vegan soy cheddar (which is actually extremely cheesy)
Salad with hummus and pita....
The list really does go on. I think being vegan (or vegetarian) is so DELICIOUS and it really becomes a million times more nutritious as well.
Every nutrient you need, you can receive from a vegan diet. For instance, cauliflower is loaded with calcium. And being a vegan means 0% cholesterol.
And it isn't more expensive than buying dairy and meat. In fact, rice milk is actually cheaper than dairy milk.
Has anyone tried a vegan cake? They are just as moist and rich as their non vegan counterparts. Easy to make, also.
Live on good ethics, health, and tasty food!!! Hit me up on the PM if you want specific recipes. I am all too enthusiastic to spread the wonderful vegan vibes....

I watched this 4 months ago and have never eaten meat since and never will do again. I then went vegan a few weeks later. It really did affect me and if it needs something like this to make you stop and think, then it can only be a good thing. Watching this video and reading some like-minded information on these and other forums has totally transformed my life for the better.

Cruelty to animals is just one of those things i cannont stand at all. I will fucking GO OFF on somebody if i see it.
I think you'll be alright if you just stick to fish and locally raised chickens. I'm so glad we have an amazing locally owned organic healthfoood store here.
