I just caught Bill Mahr on Scarborough Country, and he referred to religions as "childhood myths"

I tip my had to Bill Mahr.

bill maher can be such a breath of fresh air. i find myself screaming "thank you" at the tv set sometimes.

and yet, he's an interesting contradiction. he bashes bush, yet he also bashed charlie sheen about 911. he is an advocate for 'natural' foods, yet he is fixated on global warming. he's not afraid to have cfr members on his panel, either. i love him; but i don't necessarily trust him. ;)

here's his take on the bee phenonmenon:

Yes. I wondered about Bill Maher too. Until I watched this interview he did with Ron Paul. Everything Ron Paul said was sane and true but Bill ripped it apart.

Notice that Bill says, "I always thought I was a Libertarian but I'm Chairman Mao compared to you."
That's total bullshit. There is nothing that Ron Paul said that is not part of an ordinary Libertarian view.

And, Bill's rap about the bees is just a reiteration of Al Gore's scam. He says it's "us" who are killing the bees (therefore we must buckle under and accept the coming taxes and restrictions and rights-eroding legislation in the name of ecology).

I used to like Bill Maher but after watching that Ron Paul interview I decided to take a closer look at Bill's show.

I think the show fits right into the agenda. There are a lot of talk show hosts that make jokes about the Bush administration: Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Letterman, etc. They want us to keep laughing about it and think it's all funny instead of getting outraged and doing something about it. Our country is run by madmen who murder and torture and lie and steal "but it's all OK because look at how funny it all is. Ha ha ha." We watch the show and laugh and feel relieved and that's the idea. It gives us an outlet to vent the outrage without doing anything more about it.

Bill Maher's show gives the appearance of being critical of the government but when you get right down to it, he's actually supporting it. It's part of the scam. They make it look like "freedom of speech" and open political debate and criticism but it's really not. It's very cleverly done and Bill is very smart and funny. The show seems to be designed to help the critical thinkers vent their frustrations without really doing anything but the real issues like the Global Warming scam and the War on Terror scam and the 9/11 scam, etc. are side-stepped or made to look silly.

I think Bill Maher is "Fox News for Libertarians." ;)
