David was interviewed on Alex Jones' radio broadcast of June 3rd which I thoroughly enjoyed. Towards the end of the show there was a phone-in segment, and calls were taken. The second of which went as follows, allow me to quote:

I agree with Mr. Icke that the ultimate target of the neo-cons is China, and the stepping stones are Iraq and Iran, I totally agree with that; it even said so in the Project for a New American Century. But I think right now the box that the media is trying to keep us in is that there's some kind of difference between Obama and McCain. I think in a certain sense the greater danger is Obama because so many people have been convinced through cult of personality that there's some kind of a difference. I think you made a good point there about how the neo-cons got their start in the Democratic Party through the Henry Jackson faction, the military-industrial faction of the Democratic Party, before they joined the Republicans. I think there's so many people at this point now that somehow make excuses for Obama when he gets on his knees ...

At that point Alex interrupted and jumped to the next call, presumably because of time restrictions. The caller was bringing up some interesting detail up to that point however.

I have heard it discussed before that the neo-con philosophy that so totally pervades the Republican Party, actually originated with the Democrats - i.e. with political figures aligned to the Democratic Party. This may be partly the reason why Bush, McCain et al have been dubbed "Trotskyites" by certain political commentators.

However behind the surface claim that the perverted neo-conservative ideology originated with Democrats, I have yet to see a proper analysis and dissection of this claim. A run down of the major neo-con players and organisations down through the years.

John said the neo-cons at some point jumped ship and "joined the Republicans" - I'd like to see this expanded upon. Does anyone have any good articles or information themselves on this argument that neo-conservatism is more Democrat, or indeed left-wing, in origin?
