Anyone watch this?
I've been watching this for the last few months trying to decode it and they put it all in this one trailer for next week's show depicting what will happen in 5 years time...
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Good show, though. Highly entertaining.
EDIT: SPOILERS if you're watching it UK Scifi Channel and not sooner elsewhere.

my bro was watching it yesterday and i watched small part of it,
it couldn't entertain me.
24 and Prison Break i find highly entertaining (exciting),
but i don't watch them because watching stuff like that puts me into a trance and it feels like poison for my mind.
it's always the same shit anyway.

Yeah, I watch it, good programme. It's like X-men really! :) Should be good these next couple of eps although I think Hiro should be in it alot more! I love him! Maybe he should start his own spinoff series! :)
Interesting that they fast forward 5 years to 2012 in the next ep.

the indian guy, me being indian, is cool. sci fi is the best genre, although after getting into all this stuff, it sometimes is the wrong thing to chill to. paramount/comedy is the best thing, when the world laughs at you, laugh back, lol
although the best sci fi series is quantum leap, x files, then doctor who, star trek, red dwarf.

Heroes has trauma based mind control themes.
I thinks it's not bad, I can't stand 24 and prison break and all those forensic shows, there really was no good "drama" till this came along. Even so, it should be a lot better, it has a good concept and they almost fucked it up like they do with most other programs; turned them into a soap. But please, know what you're watching, it's quite sinister in fact.

Did you notice how the indiana jones character is "indian"? (The indian guy is very much the same as indiana jones).
Red dwarf is the best, it shits all over the rest!:D Seasons 5 and 6 were incredible!

a starting point for migrations from india into the russian steppes, iran then europe. iran is teh mixing/meeting place of africans, asian and europeans. its a shame its about to be nuked. i think they choose the places of war for historic/spiritual reasons, afghanistan, iran = land of aryans, just as ARYA = EIRE, iraq(biblical babylon),

I find indians to have a good sense of humor (oh boy, that's a generalisation) and are funny (laughing with)

If you think this then you haven't been giving the new series of Battlestar Galactica a fair shake. It has consistently good writing and is essential drama in that it is using its premise to ask the question that all good dramas should; what is it to be human?
Plenty of not so hidden references to the war in Iraq in the early parts of season 3 also and reams of symbology. If anyone hasn't watched it because they watched the original and think that that this is simply a re-telling of a fairly cheesy show then please give this a go- start off with the mini-series pilot if you can and the difference will be immediately apparent. The writers have taken stock characters and situations and evolved them to ask questions about our nature: sometimes the answers are uncomfortable, always interesting.

I tried to watch it, it's a bloody soap!! Just like everything else on tv, stargate, stargate atlantis, babylon 5, star trek, farscape ect BORING. They had to turn a good concept into yawn, they've almost done this with heroes. There's a difference between melodrama and drama.

I can't watch any TV anymore. Everytime i saw a commercial for anything, i just wanted to put my foot through the screen! I stopped watching TV completely about 7 months ago, and i can honestly tell you that your mind feels completely relaxed and calm :)
When i go to someones house and the TV is on, the damn thing gives me a headache!
Saying that though, i used to love watching Quantum Leap and the like years ago.

So a show that examines a human being's capacity for evil as well as good- and the fine line that sometimes divides that dichotomy- ,the nature of Democracy and what that actually means in practice, shows the "good guys" using suicide bombers to achieve their aims, has a female president who can be incredibly human and incredibly ruthless in equal measures, has shown the plight of the blue collar workers and the almost slave conditions that they are working under- has even talked about the possibility of the holographic nature of the universe ( as at least seen from the cylon perspective, an item of interest here at this forum surely)-, that has "villains" who question their purpose rather than just carry out stock villain type plans and examines what differences there are- if any- between cylon and humanity, that's not drama?
I'd say that there is enough conflict and contrast there ( a definition of drama) to qualify Battlestar. Melodrama it isn't: that would require a level of exaggeration and lack of causality that Battlestar does not suffer from. If you could do more than dip your toe then the pared down realism ( I'd say pretty unprecedented in a Sci-Fi show) should be obvious.
It is all subjective I know but from my perspective Heroes is very entertaining but Battlestar Galactica is truly drama.

What about sport?
It's funny how they take it seriously, I watch it cause it's just a game.
The news is interesting to watch given what we know, you watch it differently.

complete and utter wanktosh
there not called programmes for nothing .I posted on here ages ago about how to my generation(hope i get sky before i get old lol ) in the 70's tv programmes portrayed certain themes as an experiment .There was a series called sky the sci-fi story of an interdimensional time traveller who was trying to find his way home he went to glastonbury and met a couple of hippys living in a field by the tor then onto stonehenge wich was a kind of machine that helped him trave l home .Then there was children of the stones set i n avebury but named milbury in the series .I thought maybe the conciousness of certain people was being awakened but also triggered as many of my age group were the peoeple who went off to glastonbury and were a part of the whole traveller movement ? whats going on there . Same today with the harry potter thing ,like lord of the rings and lion and witch and wardrobe , star wars etc .The latest is phillip pullmans his dark materials good story but preping kids for final battle between good and evil as well i feel . Anyway sci -f fantasy was always a good way to be able to say what you couldnt ordinarily .I m not a star trek fan but what do people think about the whole sci -fi as released info thing , dont have a tv for past few years many times have got rid of it atmosphere a lot clearer without it .But i do go and watch new dr who series when i can at friends houses .Some interesting ideas coming thru there .Queen victoria bitten by a shapeshifting werewolf that altered her DNA?Amongst many other good story lines !!!Now more so than ever tv is being used to programme us Tv puts the brain into a certain mode as opposed to radio it works on a different level but all programming non the less.Any thoughts feed back particularly on themes either to enlighten us or suppress us thru tv progs ? :D
