Was wondering if only 15% of the population is left- handed, what proportion of us are on here?
Conventional thinking has shown that most left-handers are right- brained.
In David's "Tales From the Time Loop" he devotes some pages to right brain and what that entails, mainly the "think out of the box" mentality.
Sooo, I would say that the mere fact we are ON here would mean we think out of the box!
Also, if you ARE right handed, have you ever taken a test to decide if you are right-or-left brain dominant?
I'm so pathetically right brained that if I only could rely on left-brained thinking I would definately be considered learning disabled!lol
I'm so left-handed that I failed home-ec in grade school because when I crocheted it actually came out backward!!!

I am leftie also and proud of it :p. There's got to be more than two of us here surely?
How about this then - only 10%-15% of the population are left handed but 50% of the US presidents since World War II have been left handed :eek:. Of course Bush Jr wasn't (too stupid ;)) but his dad was....
Both Barack Obama and John McCain are lefties :eek:.
Maybe left handed / right brained means latent Bilderberger or meglomaniac. Only two of us here so the rest of us must be trying to take over the world or something
Most of my best friends have been left handed also.

I too am a left handed being. I would say that my way of thinking is right brained and very much out of the box. However I do have many friends who are right handed and share some of my more "odd" beliefs. Reptilians, ETs, UFOs, etc. I have many members of my family who are also left handed but are a more conservative/mainstream/reserved/rigid in their ways of thinking. They all watch TV though, the source of all knowledge. ;)
My younger brother is right handed and extremely creative, his writing and drawing ability is phenomenal.
I think the dominance of a particular side of the brain is based on what we are prepared to believe and accept as a possibility. Left sided thinking needs a logical structure to an idea. Right sided thinking needs an idea and then builds the structure. IMO.
one of my parents was left handed - i am right handed in some things but left hand dominant in others ..
I have done a test .. i come out as equal left and right brain balanced ..

I am left-handed and right brained too and I am proud of that! :) Dude, seriously my interests are so weird, you may find them cool and unique, because I enjoy drawing anthro animals and weird stuff. I think drawing humans all day and everyday is boring, but I still draw them. I draw human young women transforming into animals, furries, monsters, plants, creatures, and aliens. You should see my sketchbook, I need a scanner!
I love the exotic, strange, outside of the ordinary box, weird, and open-minded. Its hard to see things that are outside of the thinking box in mainstream music, movies, and games. Oh wow, how boring. Always freaking super-powered humans hunting down monsters who can think for themselves and forgive. Blah, even normals humans that can kill off a super entity that wipe off the surface of the Earth. Always, always humans killing monsters, but monsters kill them too. So it is even, but at the end. The humans always wins in mainstream media games. Oh come on, not all bloody werewolves are evil, human-eating shapeshifters, and monsters. Not all Kistune/Werefoxes are wicked seducing tricksters, but the majority are!
I am tired of seeing the same boring shit in most of the media. That's why I LOVE the Furry Fandom, because of their creative imaginative unique way of thinking of how to represent anthropomorphic animals in many genres of fantasy, science-fiction, war, romance, drama, and action/adventure. Not the Fucking Disney and Dreamworks way of portraying them. I want it to be mature, deep, and original. Its very much fun to create a anthropomorphic animal as the main character or even a wereanimal shapeshifter, not humans all the time.
I think for myself, unlike others.....which is way some people call my ideas and interests weird...:p

I didnt read anything in the previous posts that eluded to any of the posters claiming to be better than anyone because theyre left handed or right brained. It is understood that the left side of the body is controlled by the right side of the brain, so its not such an outrageous, or as you put it ridiculous, statement to assert that this may also apply to our thought process based upon which side of our brains we utilise more often.
Are you aware of the way left handed children were treated in colonial Australia?
In case you arent, left handed children had their left hand tied behind their back to encourage them to use their right hands to write. These children were considered to be evil.

WOW! Don't quite know how to respond to that. If you noticed my original post was very self-depricating(made fun of myself!)
I mentioned what David Icke brought up in his book, and there are study after study that refers to left-hand /right brained. I've even read that left handedness is a sign of birth trauma that possibly led to brain damage, which I was going to bring up in my next post.
Besides THAT, if there is one group of people who have been discriminated against across the board, it's left-handers!!!

This simple visual test claims to show your brain-side preference.
Does she spin clockwise or anti-clockwise? Clockwise = right brained. Anti-clockwise = left brained.

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

I'm left handed/right brained, I had alot of grief in school with mirror writing and not just the odd letter but the whole lot was mirrored. I was eventually conditioned to write the "normal" way but in college when I had to take notes really quickly trying to jot down what the tutor was saying... it would come out in mirror again, I find it easier despite having it repressed all those years.
I think my right-brain dominance has allowed me to see the bigger picture alot of the time but I have huge difficulty in explaining anything verbally, it just comes out sounding stupid and unbelievable.

You were bound to get a right hander with a chip on their shoulder about us lefties on this thread LOL Because they grow up with the notion we are "cack" handed, like it is a bad thing! And to point out something good about it challenges the 'majority rules' mind-set. Don't worry right handers, it doesn't mean you can't be creative ;)
I may not be particularly interlectual but I draw a pretty cool picture when inspiration hits me :)

Another lefty here. I wouldn't say I am very creative (in anartistic sense) though which is supposedly right brain but I am right oriented because I pull solutions from the ether and have many out the box,bigger picture interests and I always seem to see the forest and not just the trees. I also don't tend to worry about insignificant crap that most people do. I'm also fantastic with computers and havea natural affinity with them.I have extremely fast physical reflexes but that may be unrelated.....though at the same time my coordination can be sloppy which sounds contradictory but depends what I'm doing. I saw a prog on Edge media channel on SKY about a guy called Lee Gerdes who has developed a tehnique to faciltate people using both sides of their brains and he credits it with reforming criminals, turning school drop outs into A1 students and in short time spans. I seem to score close to 50/50, in the middle, on most tests. But I hate math and I'm emotional and sensitive.

I'm left handed. Both my parents are right handed and my three brothers and my sister are all right handed. Not sure which side of my brain is dominant. I know at school i found maths hard going(id invert algebra and work it out my own way leaving teachers baffled). Subjects like English and Psychology were much easier for me though.
