' Britains Closest Encounters ' shown on five , second in the series.
This was better than the first episode I thought , in that it seemed a lot more open minded and there were things that the programme admitted couldn't be explained.
The sighting of a UFO by 15 children at Broadhaven Primary school on 4/2/1976 was a particularly impressive one , and the programme left the question of what they had seen open. The explanation of a large tanker or machinery from the nearby sewage works was ruled out.
The appearance of giant silver spacemen wasn't totally ruled out as a complete hoax , but it probably was - thats what the Government thought at the time anyway. The account of the guy who dressed up as a spaceman was hilarious , he had to run for it when a woman got a gun and was going to shoot him !
