if you didn't have anything better to do, and had a year or two to spare, you could probably almost read one of these sites in their entirety.
I suggest getting as much as you can from these sites. Two very good sources to help you through the spiritually trying times to come.

Ive read quite a few articles by Stephan Hoeller, his stuff is interesting.
There are quite a number of things i disagree with Gnostic beliefs, i certainty don't believe this Universe was created by some evil demiurge, if there is enslavement in our world then i believe its only created by us only and probably for reasons for our evolutionary process. The Demiurge (like Satan) sounds more like a collective personification of archetypal thought clusters projected in a way to reflect this idea of enslavement.

Yeah smoking, but there sure is fun times trying to fit the story as an allegory. What is the hidden meaning?

^ yeah mystic traditions like gnosticism dont have literal dogma (although people often misinterpret this). Gnostic texts and stories are supposed to be metaphor and allagory to unspeakable or unnamable truths. Although im no gnostic expert, as far as i know, theres not supposed to be some human-like demi-urge entity. Certainly doesnt fit with other mystic traditions...

the universe wasn't created by an evil demiurge, it was created by his mother, but without agreement with her significant other. And when he blew into the first man the breath of life, he did not understand it, for it was the breath of his mother which was within him.
Go read the whole site now.

and look at this from the gnosis archive:
[However, I caused them to eat.
I asked the Savior,
“Lord, isn’t it the serpent that caused Adam to eat?”
He smiled and replied,
“The serpent caused them to eat
in order to produce the wickedness of the desire to reproduce
that would make Adam helpful to him.”]
And the powers that be, and have been, know that jesus was lucifer, but they made it so that the population would worship lucifer.
