Derren Brown (Is he trying to tell us something)

On friday the 13th of April Derren Browns new show started on channel 4 called Trick or Treat. on this new show Derren gives willing participants a blind choice between two cards, one card has Trick written on it and the other has Treat on it. If the participant chooses the Trick card then something bad will happen to them and if they choose the Treat card then something good will happen.
On the episode of Friday the 13th derren had one participant fall asleep in a photo booth in London and then had them wake up in the same photo booth but thousands of miles away somewhere in india with no idea of how he had got there.
This sounds amazing and it does make good TV, but here's my question? If Derren Brown can do this to someone then what can someone with the same knowledge and the right connections do not just to one unsuspecting person but to everyone? Could Derren be trying to tell us this by showing us just how easy it is to manipulate someone and change there perspectives on life and their surroundings? what if this is what is happening to people like Tony Blair and George Bush, could they simply be under the same kind of illusion cast over them by higher and more sinister people? We all know that Tony Blair and George Bush are members of secret organisations such as the free masons and the skull and bones society. Tony Blair gets all of his information from his advisers, people like MI6, MI5, government scientists etc. He gets told what to say by spin doctors and speech writers. and he only acts upon their advise. perhaps they actually believe that what they are doing to the world is the right thing to do because of the illusion's that they are under.

Derren Brown is world famous for his talent as an illusionist and he has demonstrated this countless times on TV, he's even recreated famous tricks that have baffled people for centuries. in one episode of an old show he asked some one to take his watch and hide it anywhere they liked with in a european city i think it was venice but i cant be sure. after the watch had been hidden he then proceeded to find the watch. he gave him self an hour and was able to find it in under this.

It's not just Blair and Bush who get this treatment though... They really spare no expense in training fellow adepts...

I read that Mandelson is his main 'programmer' - and if what
Derren Brown does is true - it shows it can be done.

However, you must have doubts over Derren Brown's show.

Read his autobiography out recently and he admits he is first a
'showman' and that his TV programs must reflect that???

And remember his Russian Roulette show - where he was caught
out blantantly lying that the show was for real.

The next day the police revealed that the show was a sham.

His second episode was on last night and again Derron Brown showed how easy it is to make someones perception of reality completely change. He made a guy think he was locked in a box and couldnt see a thing. The guy walks around on stage, bumbing into things completely unaware of the world we see him in.
His new reality is 100 percent real to him. Its eerie.
Makes me see more clearly how external reality shapers alter our personal experience of reality.

Is it? I thought so once, but then I had a look through his book. He's right when he says Derren is communicating a message, but I don't think it's quite the one he thinks. Unless all the talk in Derren's book about the infalibility of science, the insanity of the New Age (and by New Age, he means anything that Richard Dawkins doesn't agree with), his mocking jokes about aliens running the governmnets ect., is all just a cover for a deeply subversive charecter. But why do that? Why needlesly alienate people like us when you could just remain ambigous or something? Also, a thing to remember with Brown's work is that ambiguity plays a central role. It's all part of the act, the mystique, that his performances play that game with the audience. Was it psychology? Was it slight of hand? Did he hypnotize that person, or was that person just imagining he was hypnotized? You would be right to ask how someone so clued into the workings of the mind, of beliefe and delusion, someone who's allways chalenging those things, could also at the same time be so un-critical about other things, like vaccines and GM food (he "debunks" these in a chapter called Anti-Science, Psuedo-Science and Bad Thinking). But then, how could someone smart enough to build an atomic bomb also be dumb and evil enough to actually use it?

both cards say "trick" and "treat" when you flip them, so the choice about a trick or treat is an illusion, as is all the other stuff he does. anyone can be manipulated with trickery and suggestion if they are not paying attention. these guys have good distraction techniques appropriate for each particular case.
