Is anybody else getting a deep-soundnig hum in their ears? I have had this a number of timese in the last month, and there have been about 4-5 big earthquakes within days of me hearing the hum. (I have no health or ear problems either). The hums have now subsided, as have the earthquakes. I would be interested in other people's stories..

Well that went down well!
Still getting the hum, and always followed by an earthquake.
Just before Haiti, I had a migraine - I never get migraines!

I started hearing the hum before the earthquake in Haiti. The same thing happens, I hear it especially loud around 6am before daylight and then I hear the news of an earthquake. Last night I heard it and mentioned to my husband that an earthquake would take place soon. And today there was one with a magnitude of 7.2.

Yep, but I hear it all the time if the general background noise is quiet but the funny thing is, I was down in SW Cornwall for a couple of months over christmas and I don't recall hearing it once?
The hum I hear is really low Hz, I might have to do that, try and find the frequency.

Anyone know a tone generator for Linux?

The hum could be magma circulating miles below ground. It can move very slowly, sometimes an inch a year in the upper mantle but studies have shown that a plume can transport diamond rich magma at speeds of about 45 mph.
That has to make some kind of noise. Maybe in certain parts of the world the noise is focused so it can be heard from thousands of miles away.
