Is it just a coincidence that 5 troops are shown on the main news being buried and an announcement that more troops are to be sent to Afghanistan....All just in time for the visit of Bush Jnr???
The men had been on On board the returning C17 aircraft were Private Nathan Cuthbertson, Private Daniel Gamble and Private Charles Murray, who were on a routine foot patrol on 8 June in the Upper Sangin Valley when their patrol suffered a suicide attack – a terrifying new phenomenon in this conflict and something the troops had rarely faced before either in Afghanistan or Iraq.
Lance Corporal James Bateman and Private Jeff Doherty, who were killed during an exchange of fire with the Taliban on 12 June in Helmand Province.
All five men were from 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, based at Colchester, Essex.
