Do they manage to stay so secretive up to a point. As they only recruit from a very select pool of people who share a common culture. I'm not talking about an open and public culture either. It stands to reason that when forming a group to keep secrets what better pool to utilise than a group formed from...

They can employ from all walks of life as they are compartmentalised, so never see the bigger game they are in, and when they do, they are censored by the Official Secrets Act.

There is supposed to be a few bands who are members of the security services. I remember one Group who could technically play really very well. But you could tell just listening to the music that it was empty and soulless. It was lacking any kind of expressional spirit.

Many famous bands musicians are members of OTO Ordo Templi Orientis ( Oriental Templars) Masonic
Aleister Crolwey was one time head of OTO.
Music and intelligence agencies sort of on topic worth a look

I agree.
I personally think that Elvis was un-knowingley used by the "powers that be" and he became a "loose cannon" when he started to mix with people like George Harrison, John Lennon and others and I'm guessing that they passed on some valuable knowledge to him. I would love to have been a fly on the wall listening to what they talked about.

i'm sure loads of 'top' bands are 'influenced', even if just infiltrated, like new bands members joining big bands and causing brake ups etc, it happened to machine head nearly!!!!!!

yes Matt Deloouze mentioned elvis at his lecture, Freddy Mercury Elton John Paul Macartny and others..
It made a lot of sense.. as he linked it to the energy extraction theory.

Danny Carrey's (TOOL) father was a mason.
A fact that has no bearing on my undeniable joy of their music.
Metal is a nice place to visit every now and then, I stayed their for a number of years. Controlled rebellion at it's finest. That, of course is just my opinion.

Yeah, not that big a fan (they aren't the most creative bunch, really good at what they do but they change with the times to much...again just my opinion but from what I heard of their latest stuff they sound like a trivium influenced take on a watered down Mastodon.

Yeah anything and I mean anything which is seen as being a rebellion. Is in fact just another controlled part of the illusion. Even dare I say it Tattoos and piercings (runs and hides waiting for the onslaught to begin).

I can honestly say I met some of the most judgmental people within that scene. Which shocked me as some portray themselves as the most open minded people. I cannot stand the southern metal thing, people from fucking stockport acting like they are from the dirty south. Grinds my gears. :p
