Ive been hearing this tune on and off for years,in adverts and documentaries
but not knowing who it was made by.
I absolutely adore it,its melancholy yes,but i love it with all my heart.
Turns out its from Brian eno,who ive never heard of.
Its called An ending(ascent),this tune just sends me.
what tune always has a great effect on you,for whatever reason,if any.

My tune of the moment.. well actually album of the moment is Uforb by The Orb. :)
By the way Eno used to play keyboards in Roxy Music.
I love ambient music these days.

I recently found out that he was part of roxy music.
which really shocked me,cos that was in my era when
roxy were famous........all you ever heard about was Brian ferry.

Probably a song called 'what's so strange about me', by a punk band, from the 1980s, called 'Eight Dayz'. It was on a skateboard video, by 'Santa Cruz skateboards', called 'Wheels of Fire'. Which I remember first seeing, in 1988, when I first walked into a skateboard shop, a long time ago. I have long had the video, and now the DVD, but it took me nearly 20 years, to finally own the song, on its own. It will forever hold a place in my heart, it not only captures for me the true essence of skateboarding (freedom and self expression) but the essence of my youth (when in my mind, the world was great and America was the land of the free). The song itself, has so much energy, which attracted me too it, but ironically, as I grew older, I realised it had great cultural, political and spiritual lyrics (like most punk) which began to change and shape my view of the world (much like the art of skateboarding) to what it is today. It still gets me hyped too skate today at 33.

While I was typing that reply, I've actually had a song on repeat, which is great. Its by ROYSKOPP and it's called 'what else is there', a title very prevalent, to this 5 sense reality where scurrying around in.lol

Do you know of a punk cd with a young kid, with his shirt off, holding a pistol in both hands? I can't remember what band or compilation that is.

I never had a fave band in the mid 70's until ABBA came along.
I love The human league,vangelis.....but if i was forced to go and live on a desert island with only one choice of music, then it would have to be OMD.

Yeah I like OMD too, reminds me of an ex girlfriend. :)
I was also an ABBA fan when I was younger, Take a Chance On Me brings back so many memories. I thought Agnetha was an angel when I was a kid.
Now I just realise that I fancied her something rotten. :p

Agnetha was gorgeous, quite fancied anni-frid too.
but the main thing is they both had beautiful voices which complimented each others perfectly.

Yes, almost perfect harmony which I suppose is connected with angels. Wish I could meet someone else like that.

I have a dream mentions angels.
The westlife version of it was surprisingly brilliant
very close to being equal to the original.
