I noticed something funny on the radar images during weather bulletins on Irish news lately.
More often than not, there is a curious straight line cutting across the north of county wexford. It's obviously not depicting natural rainfall so I sent an email to met eireann asking about it. This was there reply:
"The rainfall image that displays a straight line of echoes over Wexford is interference from a unknown radio source."
Unknown radio source? It may be that this is on the transatlantic flightpath, and the contrails or chemtrails from aircraft are effecting the radar. But it seems to disappear or dissipate once it moves a bit inland.
Here's the link to the daily Rainfall Radar image (Note: the line of echoes won't be visible if there's too much real rainfall, like today ): http://www.met.ie/latest/rainfall_radar.asp?ani=y
Has anyone seen anything similar elsewhere?
