I was in a city centre yesterday afternoon and there was a bloke preaching at the passers by on how the bible can save us etc and later on when I went past, quite a few teens were mocking him and saying that they dont believe in that crap. OK it wasnt very respectful of the kids to do that but I think that those kids have a better chance of saving each other than that religious bloke.
I think that there are of 3 paths we could go down :-
1. Do what is good/right
2. Do what is evil/wrong
3. Become religious
Path 3 means that we do NOTHING and have faith because "god" will make sure the good wins in the end. I was speaking to a few religious people who believe that god will make sure good always wins. So they just sit back and do nothing. In the end good WILL win and that will be because good people (non-religious) do something to stop the evil people from winning. So in other words WE save those religious nuts and they say that god saved them. Religious people are a waste of time IMO (I'm talking about those who stick to the hard and fast rules of Christianity mainly cos I dont know much about the other religions to be honest).
Path 1 means that they are obviously gonna do what is right.
The YOUNG people who follow a mixture of Path 2 and Path 1* are up for grabs and are open to new info (although they are usually brainwashed into a false history and materialism/consumerism).
Anyway, basically what I'm trying to say is that in my discussion that I had tonight with some religious people, I more or less ended up saying to them that the people who follow Path 2 (the wrong/evil path) have more chance of saving us/themselves than the ones who follow Path 3 (the religious path) and who keep on saying "Have Faith".
Maybe religion was created for this reason, to keep us all repeating the message "Have Faith" and actually not DOING anything.
