Did any of you come across this piece the other day? A guy in Florida arrested for feeding the homeless on the street?
This is another sick example of the police state now staring us in the face!
http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN0517193520070405
The article goes on to say: "Police collected a vial of the stew Montanez was serving as evidence"
WTF????

That is one fucked up law. No matter how many fake panhandlers there are, and no matter how many people choose to be homeless, there isn't any excuse for this shit.

With any luck the law will be struck down as unconstitutional.

One night after a party, my friend gave us tons of food to take home. She'd had the food catered, and some pans were unopened. This was really yummy food with yum ingredients like lobster and shrimp, etc. So, this was entirely too much for us, and we decided to give most of it to some hungry and homeless people if we could find them, on the way home.
We drove all around, didn't see anyone, so we drove to a hospital emergency room (those are always crowded) and I spoke to the receptionist and explained that I had all this unopened food that would go to waste if I didn't find some hungry souls to eat it. She refused to take it (something about it maybe being poisoned or something). Ok fine. So, we drive home (one hour away) and we look for some hungry folks in our own town. The ones that we did find were so suspicious of us. Even though they were hungry, they just didn't want to risk broken glass in the food or poison.
Anyway, the whole incident made me really sad. You want to help, but the bastards before you, that intentionally hurt other people for no good reason, screw it up for everyone after them.

they might have made bomb from the stew, apparently chappatti flour can be used in bombs too. this just the sad nature of the apathetic world. we are so uninformed, silent, that the govts do what ever they want and we just let it happen. in england personal freedoms are being stripped away. soon the pub will become well, another house of the pc crowd, reading the daily mail, watching the proms and being all continental with their chilled glass of chardonnay, lol.
its only family keeping me in this country, i can see the banning/licensing of alcohol soon, as lets be honest it kills more people directly/indirectly than smoking, drugs etc. only when the beers/wines and cars are affected of the masses will they wake up. oil and alcohol are the only concerns of the middle england. and ironicaly immigration, which well they wouldn't be here if it wasn;t for immigration, irony.

I would emplore you not to leave your country because of it's problems. It's bad all over, and besides, no one got anywhere by running from their problems. Stay and fight for your home.
You know what this post reminds me of? There's a law against feeding parking meters. So, if I'm walking down the street, and I see a car parked at a meter that's out of time, and I decide out of the kindness of my heart to put money into the meter, I can get arrested. Laws against compassion, I hate it.

what kind of world is this where we have to pay to park our cars *even in hospital car parks in the UK) and you can get arrested for feeding the hungry wtf!!? the US is over policed! and i would move from the UK the first chance i get, i will fight for my home when i find a decent one, i could probably be arrested under the anti terrorism laws with some of the posts iv written in this forum. if theres somewhere a little bit more relaxed to fight from it would be possible!
