NASA's latest Martian probe last night landed safely on the red planet and issued an immediate call for Gordon Brown to resign.


The Phoenix Lander touched down shortly before midnight GMT, unfurled its solar panels and urged the prime minister to act in the best interests of the Labour Party and the country.

Tom Logan, of the Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said: "The soil sample data is telling us that while the case for Martian life is inconclusive, Labour is definitely up shit creek as long is Brown is in charge."

Logan said the probe was asked to send additional evidence and a few seconds later the screens in mission control were filled with a grainy image of former Tory prime minister John Major.

The lander last night insisted it was not a 'stalking horse' and had no ambitions to move into Number 10.

Meanwhile foreign sceretary David Milliband dismissed the resignation call, saying: "It's no secret the Phoenix Lander has never been Gordon's biggest fan.

"But all of us, including the lander, should be getting on with the job and now is not the time for space probes to be calling for a change in leadership."

He added: "Don't I remind you a little bit of Tony Blair?"

I was looking at the images on the nasa website. There's a stone in the foreground which has been dislodged and you can see the pit where the stone had been. Caused by the lander?

Could be any region of the vast expanses of US deserts in my opinion. The pics are usually just another view of the same boring flat scene we've seen in every other alleged landing.... no background, no mountains etc.

Drop down a webcam into valles marineris or onto olympus mons and NASA will earn my respect, so long as we can get an unrestricted free 'live' feed.
I'll never believe NASA until they stop giving cartoonish bland pictures of New Mexico.

I watched some TV coverage of the Phoenix Mission landing. The project leader
told the press, "The landing went so smoothly some of our people thought they
were looking at a simulation." :rolleyes:

I was reading an article about this yesterday - can't find it in my history folder though! Someone was saying that there was absolutely no need for the the pictures to be in B+W (I have to agree with this!), he felt the reason the pictures were in B+W was that a colour photo would show people that Mars wasn't red and that it has a blue sky (something he had researched and proved elsewhere - although I never followed the link to that page).

I thought I linked to it through the Red Ice Creation site - anyone else read it?

interestingly i checked nasa's website and they have the same image:

the image size is around 40 mb and the "creature" is at the bottom left there.

anyway, i think the fact that nasa is keeping the image on their website (and for half a year) makes me a bit suspicious.

We got the landing on the news a few nights back, in NZ that is.

It struck me how can all the people at the control center for the Mars project on earth tell a lie like they have? You see them all at the controls when the 7 minutes of stress happens, then when it lands, they all go yeehaa, the mind bogles. How can you do this to everyone on earth? Do you think they know that its a lie? How can they not?

Evil bastards.

I told my partner, why do NASA think we will believe them after the amount of B S they have spread. He agreed. I will never believe them. And whats more, the stupid tiny little tv channels down here are all going yeehaa we've gone to mars, its taken us 11months. Not! We've been making space ships that get there in no time at all since the friken 70's.

I don't know, guess I'm just supper angry about all the years of lies and the endless sheeple idiocy that I see in my country, believing what they're told and not looking further into it.

Very flat and featureless terrain. It could be anywhere!? There are lots of mountains around Area 51, but those could be removed with a touch of the airbrush and some CGI.

Maybe only some of them are fake photoes. If so then maybe they were faked to replace real photoes of Mars that were too "hot" to be published.

Phoenix Mars Lander (image from JPL, not Mars)




First black and white May 25, 2008 image of Martian arctic landscape, taken from jpl-nasa NASA website. This is claimed to be a "raw image before processing." But JPL-NASA doesn't say just what the processing does. Surface is believed to be hard and with little dust, since the spacecraft's foot did not settle into the surface.


At 9:52PM on May 25th, 2008 there was a live NASA broadcast from NASA-JPL. A woman named Gay Yee Hill was the moderator for the NASA broadcast. What follows is what transpired on the NASA channel, about 90 minutes after the spacecraft landed. Statements shown in quotations are exact quotes of statements made.

One of the JPL engineers declared and I quote here verbatim, "They have images at the science operations center in Tucson, but we don't have them yet." Right after he said that, the live audio feed for the on-screen video was muted to an almost inaudible level until the images appeared on a wall television display at JPL. On this great historic moment, WHY was there such a delay in JPL displaying these images? It should have been essentially instantaneous.

Several minutes later only a few images from Mars were shown in this order: 1. Several images of the Phoenix solar panel array 2. One image of a circular foot pad supporting the Phoenix spacecraft. This is very similar to the foot pads on the Lunar Lander or Viking Lander. 3. One image of the horizon.

Were any of these images in color? Of course not. Lots of hugs were exchanged at JPL on camera live in color between the staff... while they waited for more black and white images to arrive from the science operations center.

Here in 2008, WHY are we still seeing MONOCROME images? This is absolutely unforgivable to still be doing this trick. The color images from Mars are obtained from a solid state camera, very similar to a typical camcorder or cell phone which almost everyone owns today (but much higher resolution.) Color information is already present in Mars images, but clearly this was deleted for reasons not explained.

The woman interviewing a project engineer eventually asked, "Will we be seeing color images?" The answer was "Yes indeed, we will be seeing color images [short pause here in his voice] in the future." But she never asked why these images today were in black and white today. Technically, there is NO reason for these live images to not be in color except for one major reason - people will realize that Mars isn't red after all, but it has a blue sky almost identical to that of Earth (which I proved with NASA images in my book.) Color image information is being sent to Earth right now, and there is no real reason whatsoever not to show these historic, polar images from Mars in black and white. Perhaps that's was "processing" does to Mars images - it alters them look so they will look like what NASA thinks the public expects to see.

After about 20 minutes, the interviewer Gay Yee Hill announced "JPL's part in the mission is now done, and they will be handing control of the mission to the University of Arizona." The NASA television special ended shortly thereafter. Images from JPL continued but audio was completely muted

What we saw today is a dramatic replay of the Viking lander more than 30 years ago, complete with another image of the spacecraft's foot and a view of the horizon. But those images broadcast more than 30 years ago from Mars were in COLOR. But not images in 2008! Who can believe this nonsense?

Data4science.net will continue to watch and report on the drama, with more reports coming on this mission as they develop. I exposed this very same censorship with the two rovers Spirit and Opportunity back in 2005 with in my book, "What NASA Isn't Telling You About Mars" (available from www.bookonmars.info .)

One can only hope that the images we are seeing actually are coming from Mars...and not from a stage somewhere.

the one showing a clearly blue greyish sky.
does anyone have those photos? or seen the report?

It boggles me that we have Google Earth that I can use to zoom in on my house and see my truck parked in the driveway while images from Mars satellites launched with more advanced technology on board and having to penetrate 'less' atmosphere and from a lower orbit pixelize when you try to zoom in on any feature.

The first pic that came back showed a blue sky, then the narrator said that the technicians had filtered too much blue into the shot. "The next day, they saw what colour the sky really was" and it showed a pink sky. I remember thinking that they couldn't have because the rocks weren't any different in shade between the two pics but thought nothing further of it.

If I was to make a guess, I would say those pictures NASA releases are taken here on earth and red-shifted to appear alien.
