This is a very long story, but I will give it to you as short as possible...

Last Christmas I decided to opposse the nanny state,
My 5 year old daughters school has a no photo's at school play's ban, which myself and partner abided by for two years, but then became uncomfortable with it, due to it not having any common sense, and we wre missing out on those mile stones of our childs life,
I attempted to negociate with the school by emailing them, asking them to poll the parents etc
to see if the majorety wanted to take photos, and was ignored as their system couldn't handle some one with a brain,
Got local paper involved, they did an article on this, and the school still didn't get in touch, even with me stating that I now opposse the school ban on photos and wanted to take photos.
Local Radio interviewed me as well and the school declined from any Radio interviews.
The day for the school nativity play arrived and I took my camera as I felt pretty sure that it is not against the law to take photos of your child in a school play.
3 Police officers were there in the school hall! 1 proper copper, two plastic Police,
I was stopped by the proper copper when I got my camera out once my daughter took to the stage, we spent aprox 7/8 minutes debating quitely at the back row of the Hall, with me asking if it was ilegal, and was told no, but the copper basically enforced the school rule on me which got close to me being taken outside and arrested.
again all took place quitely at the back row, but some parents and my daughter on stage did start to look round at us.
I missed my few minutes of my daughter on stage and was prevented from taking ay photos by the police, as I was threatened with being taken outside if I did, and so didn't want to casue that much fuss for my daughter and the other kids.
I made an offical Independent complaint to the Police to no avail.
the local paper suddenly diddn't entertain this situation, but it did get in local ITV and BBC news, where I stated that it is a Nanny state gone mad and that people don't want to live in this nanny state.
I got it on BBC Radio 5 Live as well, where the Liberal brain washed bunch of usual listeners and the Show Host put me under attack, which I'm told I did pretty well with.
I am now in the proccess of taking the school to the small claims court for injured fealings, damage to my reputation and discrimination due to other school rules being broken regularly by parents and staff but with no police being called out to them when breaking school rules.

The school head who called the police had me down as a trouble maker and wanted to squash me, due to me asking to many questions and questioning too many nonsense rules etc

Police/Nanny state or what?

The police behaved unlawfull. They are not empowered to infringe in school matter unless you are committing a breach of the peace. Taking a picture of your kids in school is not an offence.

I've had this out with the head teacher from my kids school and won't stand for it. Lot's of parents film at my kids school.

The school can not stop you. They are using scare mongering against you and implying that you could be a child molester/sex offender. Most likely the head teacher is a common purpose trained drone who needs to be put in their place. I say you film him/her, do a roger cook job and put them on the spot over it. You have to make them look like a nazi, which they are for getting the police out to stop parents.

Where are you from? You need to learn how to defend yourself from these lying police. They are not allowed to get involved the way you said it went on. They need naming and shaming, the school head and the police.

its crap you cant take memories of children home without the school profitting on it , if wrong for us to film and take photo graphs why isn't wrong for the school and local papers .also police in schools shocked me, when i went for day 2 of meet and greet at the local primary school the parent where introduce to the community police officer who happens to be based at one of the secondry schools and the council is looking for more funding so they can keep the scheme going and to place more officers in more schools
