View Full Version : Witness wants to sue Watchtower
A former Jehovah's Witness man, Lawrence Hughes, continues his vendetta against the Watchtower Society because of the death of his daughter (from leukemia) due to their 'no blood' transfusion rule. This ruling has altered in recent years and isn't as strict as it once was, hence many people can be seen to have died needlessly because certain types are allowed now.
While the daughter had the right of refusal as a devout Witness, a court ruling said she was not in a position to make independent decisions about her treatment . Her Witness mother remained loyal to the Watchtower and was prepared for her daughter to die, but the father, who went to the courts, wanted to save her.
So...he was a believer and a follower until a life and death situation arose, when he renounced his 'faith'.
A pity religion worldwide has such a manipulative grip on people. Christian, Muslim, Hindu or whatever - all just tools in the mayhem of mankind.

My dad very recently was at the brink of death. He is a jehovahs witness and had a wristband on that said no blood to be given. Speaking to my mum at the time, she said she doesnt think she could sit there and watch him die when a simple blood transfusion would do. But as it happens she has no say at all.
In a few months time he will be having a kidney transplant????? Why no blood but organs are fine?

Can a JW build up a bank of their own blood to use if needed, or is it all transfusions are banned?

It's not just JW's that are supposed to follow this:
But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. (Genesis 9:4)

Not in less they received 'new light', what they were last 'allowed' to do, as far as I know, was to use a 'Blood Salvage' machine, but even a lot of witnesses said they wouldn't even use that.

umm this is hard, i agree that its not good for someone else's blood to enter your body. but that person has personally blessed that blood to save your life no man or women should go against that ask a JW that the person has blessed this blood to save life, or given JW person to bless the blood before entering the body? interesting to see what they would say. we also follow it in catholicism strangely but life or death i would give the transfusion.

They would say 'We must obey God as ruler rather then men.' Acts 5:29
Little do they know who they are really following!.............Sad!
