I thought many things today....ad infinitum..and I also thought

This is what I thought of the most...something someone said to me today...

"Where else would you shine a light than in the darkness ???"
and these wise words too

"Connect with the few that you are able, we all knew that there were rulers here, and that it would mean judgement........but we can be creative within the environment of the forum and share with those that are searching."

And I'm still thinking on these wise words and they are making sense completely.

But for now ...I am in contemplation mode....I can only reach some people....It seems.

To me I see where mods are helpful if a member is attacking another viciously but other then that I do not see the need to close threads for voicing in a not combatant way ones views. Like my last post on the post your photo thread. I was just saying how I see it. If others agree with me great if others do not ok. But the post was not a target to anyone person rather a reflection on what I think of the censorship I see here. For speaking out I was awarded 10 penalty points. I wasn't surprised by that action but still fail to see where it was merited. I really just do wish for peace to ALL here. Lots of super cool folks in this forum and loads of good interacting and information. Guess Im still hoping a few things will change but its still early for this forum so we shall see. Yes it sure does feel that way. Also cant recall who it is but they sign off "with love" and can often be quite cutting.

To be so cutting, then to turn around and blame it on the victim not thinking right (as did happen) is actually abusive. Just because you sign off "with love" does not make it less abusive.

The forum is fine as it is, I think it is moderated in a fair manner. One thing I would suggest is, there are a lot of moderators registered but only a few that regularly moderate this forum. Maybe you could review the activity of moderators on this board, and if they haven't been active for a while, then give the job to someone else who has the time and commitment to help moderate the forum. Oh and I'm not looking for a job as moderator, I would not have the time, but seriously I think you should consider what I've said.

With freedom goes individual responsibility, so there is no possibility of true freedom 'out there' or on this forum while so many individuals lack the ability to self-govern their own societal behaviour. Rapists, paedophiles, serial killers, wife-beaters, sadists etc are only the extreme tip of the iceberg.

Therefore the only sense of true freedom and peace any of us can ever hope to achieve must be developed from within. Those who feel freedom within, would never feel threatened or trapped by a few courtesy/politeness guidelines put in place for the greater benefit of all.

I'm curious what lack of control do you refer to (no names please)? Authority is one thing if in the case people attacking others then by all means intervene. However, If someone is just putting their ideas or point of view about the subject or about how the forum is run in dialogue and/or a statement, without pointing fingers or name calling then where should that be penalised? Thats the point I do not understand. Why must I take this up only with a moderator if it is a question for all to contemplate and not just here within the forum but our daily lives. Cheers to all

but the thing is, none of the mods have stepped out of line, we have all done the job in making sure that the forum rules are in place, if you have any ideas for new rules then we are happy to take them in, as Sean has said, send us your ideas in a PM and we will look into it..

This is a free forum and most of the people hear fully enjoy that freedom, the only thing that people are not free to do is take other peoples freedom away... and you have a small pack of trolls who try to do this in many subtle and blatant ways.... if some people actually like these trolls and like the forum to allow posters to invade other posters rights, then ok this place is not the place for you.... If you ask me, I don't think for a second this world deserves freedom ...look at the human race!... we murder other animals for sport... we kill each other... and we damage the earth... all these people who think that the human race deserves freedom you need to think again.... now, what the issue is, we have a selected group of people who are preventing man kind from evolving away from the very mess its in, they are benefiting from our ways... and this is what is so wrong... we are not ready for true freedom because we have neglected ethics and we have been neglecting ethics because we have been starved from nutrients...knowledge.. and love.....

people that can get on a PC with an internet connection have more than many people in this world... and they get in such a strop because they cant call someone a shit head on line....

You need to understand that sadly in order for us to stop trolls from making others suffer on the forum we need to put out a set of rules and to make sure all posters follow them, so we create a forum where everyone has there own space... where everyone can pass on views and knowledge and we can all take in what we like...

Or course we also offer posters the freedom to leave, although I think Phoenix1 is a nice bloke, all be it a bit to sensitive sometimes, but should come back and chat again soon....
