Regardless of any evidence either way, do you want to believe in intelligent ET life? Feel free to discuss why or why not.

I'd rather have the truth and know than want to believe something.
By wanting to believe you leave yourself open for all sorts of disinformation, it works just the same in reverse by not wanting to believe.
Either way you'll find the information somewhere that confirms that particular belief..

That brings up the question, can we ever be totally unbiased?

I doubt it, we are all victims of programming to a greater or lesser degree, it's impossible to escape..
There is a favorite quote of mine, I can't remember who said it but it goes something like this..
"It is my firm belief that it is a mistake to hold firm beliefs."

Belief doesn't come into it. Mathematics shows that somewhere out there in the universe there must be intelligent ET life.
Is it coming here? Given the evidence from eyewitnesses, I would say yes.
If that's a belief, then fair enough, but it's a belief borne from looking at evidence, rather than, say, blind faith.

There is also a theory according to quantum mechanics that it is our consciousness that creates out there, the more powerful our telescopes become the bigger the universe becomes by the sheer observation of it. I don't believe there is intelligent life out there, but I know there is an intelligence within us all that is beyond our current understanding but still never the less desiring to be discovered all the same.

The question was more along lines of why you would want their to be intelligent ET life or why you wouldn't.:)

No. The Skeptics who claim to be unbiased are not either.

If I found out that we were the smartest things in the universe I would would not be very confident about the universe.
