It seems you start out as Junior Member and then after 100 posts or so you become a Senior Member and that's it (unless you become a moderator/forum advisor or get banned).

Talk about boring…

Here is my recommended member types…

0-10 posts = Sheeple

11-50 posts = Researcher

51-100 posts = Conspiracy Nut

101-200 posts = Discerner

201-500 posts = Freedom Lover

501-1000 = Info Warrior

1,001-2,000 = Reptile Slayer

2,001-5,000 = Grand Master

5,001-10,000 = Ascended Grand Master in Nirvana

10,001+ = Complete Loser

It would be more interesting. How about a reincarnation cycle built in? I talk so much shit I'm somewhat worried I'll be stuck on 'Complete Loser' :D

lol!!! Surly no one could get to Nuits level of trolling, she was so innovative it was quite remarkable (in a weird way).

I like Chris's ranking system and agree it would be good to see a few more ranks, and a bit more exciting than "Junior Member", "Member", "Senior Member". I was thinking only the other day that the ranking system seems a bit dull (no offence intended).

I'm a member on another forum too, and after x amounts of posts, i.e. when you surpass say, for example, 5,000 posts you can change your own rank as frequently as you want. You can make it comedic, reflect how you're feeling or whatever.

Overall, I like this idea. A reincarnation cycle somewhere would also give it a good twist.

That one cracked me up mate, genius!:D

We don't need to when we have yours!

I think it's a good idea to have more rating, it keeps the sheep in line and makes them feel proud when they get to a higher ranking:rolleyes::D

There should also be more posts in a thread before it goes to a new page. 10 per page is too little, bump it to 20-25. Makes threads much more readable.

There may be a setting you can change to do this yourself, unless I'm thinking about tools from another forum. I'll check in to it!

Yeah and if there is a picture or a diagram at the top on the original post you dont have to click back to look again just scroll on up, would be better.

Better still, give user the choice, if it was me it would be 500 posts per page.

Oh cool - you can set the number of posts yourself on the User CP page:

http://www.davidicke.com/forum/usercp.php

It's under the "edit options" link on the left, the maximum is 40 which is a start I guess.

how about "truth seeker" ( member) or troll ( nolonger Member)

sorry oh "Grand Master" chris, I understand where you are coming from, but I feel that everyone should not be rated on how many posts, but on the quoality of the post... otherwise these "what your big toe pictures on my space posts " could make someone a grandmaster in a week ....

Indeed it does! Junior member and Senior member types are just boring, no sense of excitement or enjoyment when you post. The more post you have, the more you feel dominance...like a higher rank member in this kind of forum.

I like some new forum member ''types'', but if they are too ''cool'' people are going to spam around.

Especially with something as reptile slayer. Bit harsh one also.

i dig your ranking system apart from the complete loser one, i know it's suposed to be funny but if i'd ever make it that far i'd seriously stop posting before reaching the loser status.

how about ''turqeous tracksuit pimp'' or ''son of godhead'' :D

or veteran of the reptile wars, or ''can tie his shoelaces'' whatever, anything is better than loser imo..

I think there ok the way they are, and that last one "Complete Loser" would sound insulting to some members. But I like the idea. I'll pass this on to the other admins and mods and see if they think it is a good idea or not.

Excuse me, Great Moderator, sir, but why is it that I am "a sheep" because I don't make thousands of electronic posts on David Icke's Official Forum on the internet?

I dare say staring at a computer, conversing/ranting/salivating over women in a text box, and pressing "send" is not the epitome of a warrior. Is that too daring of me to say? I mean after all, I have less than 20 posts.

Nice one, I've set it to 30, much better. :)

How many members don't know about this I wonder?

I have always had mine set on 20. After that it loads slower.

It is a problem though when people say 'on page so and so'. You must remember to divide that by 2 or 3 or whatever.

So everyone....give post numbers instead of page numbers :D

I agree the member types could be spiced up a bit - purely for entertainment value. I like Chris' system & I don't think any members here would be offended by having Complete Loser status because we'll all know it's a joke & that person may come to realize that he/she might indeed need a bit more fresh air.

Also, Senior Member doesn't have the right feel to it for me.. I'm in my 20's ffs!

Who knows - if the member types changed - you might even get more Premium Subscribers.

All hypothetical of-course.

Why not put it to a voting poll & see what we all think, then Mods/Forum Advisors can make a more democratic decision.
