Since reading the Bruce Lee topic, I thought a similar one on Bob Marley might be interesting...
In my own experience, I would say Bob played a big role in steering me towards where I am now. I had been playing his music constantly for over a year before discovering David Icke, Eckhart Tolle, etc and my views shifted radically in that time. His music seemed to describe what I had always felt about the world but was too afraid to express.
From where I am now, Bob makes even more sense and to me, it seems he is often speaking about the same things as Icke, Tolle and many others, albeit sometimes using different terminology.
Here's a selection of lines from some of his songs:
Revolution - "Never make a politician grant you a favour. They will always want to control you forever."
Natural Mystic - "There's a natural mystic blowing through the air. If you listen carefully now you will hear."
Time Will Tell - "Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell."
Babylon System - "Babylon system is the vampire. Sucking the blood of the children day by day."
Wake Up And Live - "We're more than the sand on the seashore, we're more than numbers."
Pimper's Paradise - "Every need got an ego to feed."
Redemption Song - "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery."
...and a few songs that say it all:
Positive Vibration
One Love
Coming In From The Cold
Could You Be Loved
Chant Down Babylon

What does everybody else think about Bob? Did he really understand deeply what was going on? Does anyone know what David Icke thinks of him, or Rastafarianism in general? And finally, was Bob taken out by the system?
It's always seemed too much of a coincidence for me to believe Bob Marley, Bruce Lee and John Lennon all died at such a young age when all three had a common desire to spread peace and love and seemed to know.
