If he's here on Earth in physical form he's both. We all are. Even the fluffy bunny wabbits are both. It's what the experience in 3D is all about. When a being no longer polarises themselves to favour one over the other - eg addicted to 'light' or addicted to 'darkness' - they won't return to this place. They "graduate".

Nobody is totally evil or totally good. There are various shades of gray in everybody.
Certainly, for him to act in funcition of pope, he must believe in what he is doing is good.

Hmmmm.... I think it's to choose to polarise towards one or the other.

The guy has personally admitted in recorded recollections of his childhood that what directed him to the Church was the power that came with the outfit of some bishop that impressed him. In other words, he's a politician. Still playing the game.
IMHO.
