I was never brought up going to church or Sunday school but was taught right from wrong as my parents saw it and a reckon they done a good job. I have never read the bible cover to cover but in my opinion it does teach the basics of life and harmony among mankind ie ten comandments. What I had trouble dealing with as a kid and still do is the notion that a benevolent god who had mankinds best interests in mind would demand that on one day a week the population would stop everything it was doing in order to worship said god. I have often thought about right from wrong and heaven and hell and have realised since taking an interest in Ickes work that these thoughts are based purely on fear. Fear of sinning, going to hell etc that the establishment uses to ensure the population is towing the line. Since this realisation you would think that such thoughts would not be a problem but there is now another thought niggling away at me. Since the Christian church was first established fear has kept the people in check with the majority attending some form of weekly worship. Not so any more, church attendances are plummeting and there seems to be no attempt at chasing the people back inside. Which is what worries me, if the establishment feels it no longer needs the power of the church over the people it seems to me that we are in fact very close to the turning point where the church will no longer be required.

So why express an opinion on it when there are so many that have?
but in my opinion it does teach the basics of life and harmony among mankind ie ten comandments.
Because you never read it cover to cover. It's full of Jesus led genocide, slavery, and infant genital mutilation. Human sacrifice was accepted, Rape was instructed on, etc. There is no age of consent, and there are calls to kill herbalists, homosexuals, and adulterers.
You consider this the basics of life and harmony among mankind?

As I said I have never read it cover to cover but I don't see anything wrong with the thou shalt not kill, steal etc. This was not the point of the thread but the use of the church to control the masses and how the establishment know longer cares that the people are no longer attending.

If you did not read it from cover to cover you did not miss anything!
You say your shalt not kill, steal ect... Thats right you are pointing to Gods moral law the Ten Commandments and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Ten Commandments and if I am not wrong they got presented to us by Moses "1500 BC" But in regards to the Bible most of it got corrupted to give the Elite there Power; if you lucky and do the filtering in the Bible you may find 20 pages which make logical sense!
If people finally wake up & can see the corrupt Church System there is hope! There is one part in the Scripture where it tells us to get out of the Churches and who ever wrote this part did know exactly what the Church System stands for and it is not caring about humanity but using Humanity to enrich them selfs!
All Religions are responsible for more murdering then any other Organisation but the Ten Commandments is the only real moral law and regards all Human as equal with no exception! The Bible is the tool of the Elite to corrupt Humanity!
In regards to Jesus he must be a Invention of this corrupt Church organisation because the Ten Commandments are very clear about this and says you should not make your self any idol of any type because there is only ONE God which equals the Ten Commandments!
God = the Ten Commandments and has no fiscal body!
If there ever was a Jesus he is like you and me; the only difference is that he mastered to follow Gods Ten Commandments by the dot and lived his live to represent Gods image in human form; which you can achieve also if you love, respect, believe and follow the Ten Commandments by the dot! This way you will represent Gods image the same as Jesus did!
Just look at the Ten Commandments and analyse them very carefully you will end up with the same conclusion! But don't use the changed & corrupted Ten Commandments the Catholic Church got!

But weren't those plagiarized from an earlier religious text? Is rat poison good because it tastes good?
Thou shalt not kill, except for people you're directed to by your religious leaders, homosexuals (and their conspiracy to no overpopulate the world), herbalists, certain races, people your political leaders tell you to, etc. This commandment is meaningless in light of the rest of the Bible.
Lets look at another commandment:
Leviticus 19:16
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor; I am the LORD.
- Can you spot the racism in this commandment?
Another racist commandment:
Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.

one of satan's little tricks is to go from one extreme to the other in order to get a result, i.e. in order to get people to become athiests, he totally wore them out in the churches, and now people fed up, and won't have none of it, so to speak.
but the truth is, you probably won't find God just in a church...
