I have no idea, probably something to do with snake or serpent, or a hook? Then you've got "!" and "#", and "*" and a whole bunch of other shit. But "?" is a more specific shape, it could be something.

I've been researching this on google, and I found a sentence that made me think: Satan used a question mark ‘?’ as a hook to tempt the woman.
As a hook is to symbolise temptation, that would make sense why we use that symbol for questions.

Wikipedia says that the dot is just the full stop.
i am all i am, it looks like tut is holding two hooks there, but those hooks could be also depicting a type of snake. The symbolism could be "the gods/snake hooked..."
How do you hook as in tempt someone? The best way is to ask them a question; "would you like a fuck?", "would you like to be rich?", etc, so you see where I'm getting at?

I'm hearing you brother.
I think that Tut-ankh-amen's sarcophagus was utilised as a deprivation chamber and to 'connect' with ALL THAT IS to ask questions. Merely a thought that I had.
And yes, you do hook people with a question. It is a classic ploy in salesmanship. Would you like that for a gift or for yourself ? How many could you use ? Both of these are used in 'closing the deal' by 'assuming the sale'. How you direct the question is where the persons thoughts will go towards. So if you see the two 'closes', questions, they take the persons thoughts towards them already having the product and what they would use it for.
I've got an idea that I'm discussing on the 'DNA and the origins of knowledge' thread about seeking answers through the DNA. The use of the ? in Egypt as depicted in the picture has interested me for quite a number of years now. It is also used in chriastianity, as in 'thy rod and thy staff'. Hooks to get people to follow. 'Hooks' are lines used in sales to 'reel' the customer in (hooks - fishing - the Jesus fish symbol - the fisher kings, etc), the same as in all of the religions.

Interesting about the jesus fishing thing. Just imagine other things that are involved with this symbolism. Have you noticed how many times in movies, tv, cartoons, a staff turns into a snake, usually to do the guy's bidding? (whoever was holding the staff) Jesus is also depicted holding a staff when relating him to being a shepherd. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
