I'm not sure if I posted this in the correct place or not, I hope I did. Anyways, what's the deal with the higher gasoline pricing. In the late 1980's and early 1990's it was just under $1 U.S. I remember flipping out, when it hit over the dollar amount. Then it eventually raised to about $1.30 U.S. give or take a few pennies. Now in my area it is $2.59 U.S. and rising. (as of 4-1-07). In California, I saw it was $4.18 U.S.

Now because of the rising fule prices, it it causing everything else to go up, except for my husband wages. Basicly everying has jumped up about another $1, to $2 U.S. to the old prices on food and non-food items, just to cover the cost of fuel (I'm assuming).

I have heard that it is even higher in other places, but that I'm not for sure of exactly. I know that with my family, there are things that we can no longer do, and there are things that we have cut back on. Just so that we can still feed our family, and keep a roof over our children's head.

I just wonder how much longer this madness is going to continue, before the bottom falls out.

I heard that they tried this back in the 1970's, but it did not last this long, because places were going belly up, so to speak.

Get yourself a bicycle'work closer to where you live, grow your own food so you dont have to rely on tescos importing out of season fruit from the other side of the world thus using more feul, alternativeley if you cant live without a car ,if it runs on deisel go to your local chip shop get their used oil off them(9they inly throw it away)filter it through charcoal and womens tights add a bit of ethanol for performance and hey presto free fuel .
It sounds fantastic but its true ive been doing this for over a year and my car runs perfectly although i do add deisel from a garage occaisionally out of doubt really
the only downside is that it is slower going up hills and people notice that the exhaust fumes smell of fried food

Weeeelll! We in Aus pay upwards of $1.30 AUD per LITRE. That equates to around $4.80 per gallon in US dollars.

and what about UK. Their average is 90p per litre. That equates to around $1.80 USD per litre, around $8 per gallon

good point, the US have had great fuel prices for too long now, Mainly because the invade oil rich countries like Iraq and steal it, just like the Australians are doing to the East Timorese. It's a scam and a bloody discrase.

Actually I was a little out on that. I was doing the conversion on 4.54 litres per gallon but I then remembered that theirs (US) is not imperial measurement. Looked it up and it is approx 3.8 litres per US gallon.

Sooo Aus is still over $4 US even at the bottom end and UK is around $6.84 average but that is working on 91p per litre. Apparently it could be 10% more than that, so up to $7.50. Still  .

I have continually heard people from the US complaining about the price of fuel but this is the first time I have jumped in with a comparison.

So sorry talaho :p It is still bloody ridiculous and you are right WE are being made the fall guys.
