After having worked in the US and been there on several occassions, I was deported from the United States because I was carrying a microphone in my hand-luggage (I am a musician). This was 5 years ago, after 9-11. They took photos, fingerprints, I had to swear a declaration over a Bible and I had to stay for 2 days in the immigration cells, the first day with a girl who had escaped from Dominican Republic on a boat illegally to go to Florida, and the second day alone in a different cell. As a result, I have a criminal file 5 cm thick and I can never go back to the USA. When I came back to my country, after getting informed at the embassy, home office and lawyers, the result was this: "you can't do anything against the US law". Now I look back and I am sooooo glad that I didn't stay longer... Somebody wanted to protect me out there!
