Senate Joint Resolution No. 41 Relative to the avoidance of
activities related to the formation of a world government.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


SJR 41, as introduced, Rogers. Avoidance of world government
activities.
This measure would memorialize the President and Congress of
the United States to cease appropriating funds for any military
activity in support of any world organization unless the
activities specifically authorized by Congress, engaging in any
military activity under the authority of the United Nations or
of any world body, rendering aid and consent to the
establishment of a so-called "new world order," assisting in the
formation of any form of global government, or taking any
further steps toward the economic or political merger of the
United States into a world body or government.

WHEREAS, The President of the United States has affirmed that
his foreign policy will bear little change from that of his
predecessor regarding the deployment of United States military
forces under the authority of the United Nations; and
WHEREAS, The constitutional role of our military is to
protect the life, liberty, and property of United States
citizens and to defend our nation against insurrection or
foreign invasion; and
WHEREAS, The United States is an independent sovereign
nation; and
WHEREAS, Although the United States is a member of the United
Nations, it is not a branch of that organization; and
WHEREAS, There is no popular support for the establishment of
a "new world order" or world sovereignty of any kind either
under the United Nations or under any world body in any form of
global government; and
WHEREAS, Global government would mean the destruction of our
Constitution and corruption of the spirit of the Declaration of
Independence, our freedom, and our way of life; now, therefore,
be it
Resolved by the Senate and Assembly of the State of
California, jointly, That the Legislature of the State of
California respectfully memorializes the President and the
Congress of the United States to cease appropriating funds for
any military activity in support of any world organization
unless the activity is specifically authorized by Congress,
engaging in any military activity under the authority of the
United Nations or of any world body, rendering aid and consent
to the establishment of a so-called "new world order," assisting
in the formation of any form of global government, or taking
any further steps toward the economic or political merger of the
United States into a world body or government; and be it
further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of
this resolution to the President and Vice President of the
United States, to the Speaker of the United States House of
Representatives, and to each Senator and Representative from
California in the Congress of the United States.
