Hi all,
Just been chatting to tru whose on holiday, but just popped in to say gidday from the Internet cafe on his cruise ship. He has given me a excerpt from his travel diary (being kept by I Am All I Am) to post on the forum for you all to read.......
Yesterday, we went into mazatlan, on the gulf of california in mexico. i was particularly interested in going to see the main cathedral in town. the mexican population is 90% catholic, and there are catholic churches in every neighborhood, but generally there is one main cathedral in town.
this church was completed in 1903, so it is relatively new by comparison to others. the pope came to mexico in 1938 to "consecrate" it. it really is rather "lite" in terms of symbolism, but there are a couple of interesting things i observed about the place.
1) the windows. there are stars of david in each of the 14 windows that are built into each side of the structure. that struck me right away, needless to say. after we left, our driver casually asked if we had noticed them. i said, yes, i had, could he please tell me more. he went on to say that there was a local synagogue who had donated money for the construction of the church, with the proviso that they put the stars in the windows, and that the number of windows should be 14 on each side, the number of months in the jewish calendar. i found this to be extremely interesting, and also asked him if the "benefactors" had specified anything about the placement of the structure with respect to the solar path. he said he did not know, but this leads me to point 2:
2) i was walking with my wife around the interior of the structure, just mindful of the symbolism, etc. i was kind of giving my wife a guided tour. now, mc, has an interest in symbolism, but she doesn't have the depth of fascination that i do. so, i am kind of sharing insights and impressions with her about the intention of the symbolism in the structure: in a nutshell using today's parlance, it's about producing "shock and awe" in the worshipper. these things are "hooks" to spiral in the attention of the congregation.
i told her that to me, the significance of the star of david in the windows was the "m" field . it was energetic shorthand that says, "you are 0wn3d".
now, here's the poetry of all this. the stars were made of stain glass, and the sun was passing through the windows on one side of the church and casting a colored reflection on the floor of the cathedral (white and black square tile-- the field of polarity!!) about 15 seconds after i made the above statement, a toddler of about 24 months came up behind us, and became fascinated with the colored light being cast upon the floor. he leaned down, almost touched the reflection, and then proceeded to put his feet right on top of the pattern: one foot in green, the other in red (complimentary colors in the light spectrum/color wheel, AND the colors of the catholic "sacred heart", btw!! ). i stood there, fascinated, watching the child for 10-15 seconds. i really believe the boy would have stood there for an hour, had his father not called him away.
when i shared this with my wife, who had wandered over to the over side of the structure, it really caught her attention!
anyway, i could go on about several other things, but i think you catch my drift. simply verification to me of my "spritual thesis".
