Superfood 'ban' comes into effect

Sales of blueberries have gone up 132% in the last two years
Products claiming to be superfoods will be banned under new EU rules coming into effect on Sunday - unless the claim can be proved.
Blueberries, salmon, spinach and soy have all been hailed as so-called superfoods - foods rich in nutrients.
Some say superfoods can protect against cancer and heart disease, but others say there is no evidence for this.
The new laws will apply to all food or drink products made or sold for human consumption within EU nations.
Onus of proof
Almost 100 products have been described as superfood, and sales of products like blueberries and spinach have soared.

!!!???!!!???!!!?????????? no evidence? stop eating natural products and see what happens to your body and specially brains! lack of vitamins brings nothing but degradation of the health, vitality goess off. since when there is no evidence?????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????

of course, since the sheeple have been programmed by TV ads into hamburgers and colas, of course, many brains simply stink nowadays! almost every juice and sweets have ASPARTAME (poisonous rubbish) and no one even gives a damn. i just cannot understand how can someone even exchange a natural juice for shitty fizzy drinks made of chemical poisons!
DISGUSTING....

what they are trying to ban is the actual term of it

The new EU legislation will ban the use of the term superfood unless it is accompanied by a specific authorised health claim that explains to consumers why the product is good for their health.

not the actual products but yes its total crap-they are wanting these things not to have tags on them misleading the public which is total crap really isnt it-it looks to me like they want folk not to be made aware of the benifits of eating plenty fruit and veg.

The term "super foods" is the product of people trying to make a living off the alternative health industry which is run like a religion or business. People are trying to sound scientific when in reality there is still much to learn about the properties of our food and what an optimal diet is without ignoring genetics, and geographic location. In many cases, common sense and food cravings are safer to follow than these "gurus" who cause prices to go up on things needlessly, and are often just used as tools to sell a product or produce.
