Coast to Coast. If you want to get right to it, it starts about 7 minutes into it.

Thanks cleft...yes, mercury fillings are very bad for you.....they tend to leach out after some years.......I know someone who had them all removed and replaced with composite fillings. But you have to have a highly qualified dentist who is able to do it properly.

Thanks
They are horrendous things which I’m sure most on this forum have!!!
Thinking of getting mine replaced...just working myself up to visit the dreaded dentist!

Is it expensive to get it done? I've got about five fillings.

I don't have the need to have it done, so I don't know what the cost would be.
But I have heard that you need to have a dentist that is qualified and willing to do it for you properly, because of the mercury that is released when it is removed during the procedure.
Perhaps Dr. Mercola has some information on his website about it. He's quite informative.

I'll have a look thanks.:)
David makes a good point: When removing his amalgm fillings, the dentist and dental nurse dressed up in protective clothing that David similizes to a "spacesuit". There are very tight prodecures for disposing of the amalgm too; you can't just chuck it in the bin. It's toxic waste!... Nevertheless they can put it in your mouth for an entire lifetime!:eek:

Yes, from how it was explained to me, that is the correct procedure because it is toxic.

I've been thinking of going abroad to have mine replaced, I've got 5 as well and I'm pretty sure they're unsafe. I've had them since i was 19 (10/11 years) which I think is long enough! I hear dentistry in the old eastern bloc (certain parts anyway) are of a high standard and relatively cheap. Might tie it in with a short holiday. in the summer.

How did you get it out, the procedure they do?
I found some stuff about how it is done. How much did it cost you?

it was not 'the procedure' with fans and dams but i wanted it taken out so badly. tbh they just drilled it out and had a suction pipe next to it. i don't think the dentist was too up on the mercury issues. he just thought it was a bit odd that i wanted it replaced.
it cost £56

The thing about mercury fillings is that they crack, break or fall out eventually.
I wouldn't worry about swallowing a little bit.....but the people who have a whole mouthfull of mercury, might want to look into having their old fillings removed.
I know that if someone has cancer, holistically-minded doctors will recommend that you get your mercury fillings replaced. Just good insurance.

They'll probably go straight through you if you swallow them. I've often swallowed grit from mine. They're only dangerous if they gety stuck inside you, but that's very unlikely.

KP,
Comfrey is good for cleansing the body of heavy metals [mercury]. A good process for anyone prior to actual removal of the fillings.
While I am at it..........tamarind is most beneficial for detoxing the body from flourides.
