About a year ago I was introduced to mixed wrestling, and as well being fun I found it was a great way to keep in shape and stay healthy. Anyway I have been practising this sport for about a year like I say with my friend martin, but unfortunately he has a broken colar bone and is unable to continue as my partner so I'm looking for a new partner. I live in surrey but if anyone is interested in being my new partner and lives a long way from me, I could possibly put them up for a couple of weeks. Just P.M me if your interested and please no time wasters, this is a serious sport to me and I'm aware that it often attracts the wrong type of people. Preferably I'm looking for a man that is not too muscular, the skinnier the better, it would be ideal if we are equal in physical strength. If you are unsure about mixed wrestling I put a video link for you below, so that you can get an idea of what to expect.

The answer to the first question is yes, I've had a couple of minor injuries myself, it happens. And no I don't usually perform to an audience, I have converted my garage into a gymnasium and I use that most of the time.

It's low level porno/dominatrix stuff with the woman always dominating. Mr. Royds is either taking the piss or maybe should find a more appropriate forum to find a suitable partner.:)

No, there are no rules as such, and no referee like in professional wrestling, but a lot of moves are taken from the proffesional scene. It's up to the person to submit, when they have had enough.

I don't find your comments in the slightest bit funny.
1. It has got nothing to do with porn
2. While I'm aware that it is of interest to some in the sub/dom scene, your accusation is a sweeping generalisation that is simply untrue.
3. I don't know what makes you think that I am a male, but just for the record I can assure you that I'm 100% female and proud of it. And to answer another posters comment. Is there anything wrong with me using the name Emma Royds which is very nearly the same as my real name, and yes I do suffer from piles which makes it even more logical that I should use that as my forum name, don't you think? Is it a crime or something? There appears to be a lot of extremely paraniod behaviour occuring on this forum lately, what the hell is happening with everyone.

Well I'm glad you found it funny Limelady, but I was being serious. I'm actually waiting for an operation to get them removed. But what's really bothering me with this thread is the behaviour of the likes of the poster called jimijams towards me. I'm sorry but I find that unacceptable and for that reason I won't be posting again. I haven't come on this forum to be attacked yet that is what appears to be happening. Apart from when I first joined the forum when everything was a bit mad, I have been geniune and honest in my postings and tried to be nice to people but it appears I have managed to attract peoples who don't seem to care who they upset.

Sorry about laughing so mercilessly Emma.......you just have have a way with words, besides its not every day you read a post where somebody announces to a 'hole' forum they've had a bit of a 'blow out' in the rear.
I feel you may need to get your 'back end' problems well sorted before you go doing anymore of that 'in your face' wrestling Emma....you wouldn't want things getting in the way would you?
While you wait for surgery, there are non-invasive clinical/pain management solutions to your problem (which I'll sit on for the moment), but the most important consideration is to never allow your plumbing to get 'backed up' .....if you get my drift. ;)

G'day Emma Roids,
Firstly, the video of the mixed wrestling is a poor example of a self-defense system. It is obviously a set-up and has no benefit for any practical purposes.
Secondly, if you are serious about a self-defense system and would like to continue to wrestle, then I suggest that you have a look at BJJ (Brazilian Ju-Jitsu). Here is a link for one in Surrey.....
http://www.revolutionfightteam.com/langley/jiu-jitsu.html
There are probably other places within Surrey that offer training in BJJ, so it is probably beneficial for you to look at a few places and decide for yourself which one you would prefer.
Here is site for you to familiarise yourself with BJJ.....
http://www.gracieacademy.com/
And here is what Wikipedia have to say about it.....

I only did a little bit of it with Rick Spain. He has incorporated it into the Wing Chun school of training. I also attended a full day seminar with John Will, the Australian representative for the Gracie's BJJ. It's a good system for ground fighting. It has been said that 80% of fights go to the ground. My response to that is, 80% of people don't know what they are doing.
I haven't seen much of the ultimate fighting. There was a distinct advantage for ground fighters when I saw it. When I did the seminar, I kept thinking that it was pointless to learn all these moves when all I had to do was strike the groin and I would have been free of any hold that they had me in. I would like to have a good look at Aikido, it appears to be more direct and has similarities to Wing Chun (touch reflexes).

I would have to agree with this assessment. the ground guys take you down and apply the "ground and pound" which can be brutal however, a class strikier that knows how to avoid a fall has the advantage. Having both in your aresenal is a deadly combination IMO.

I totally agree with you brother. We were taught high kicks in the Wing Chun, even though they are not traditional in the system. The philosophy was, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Someone who knows what they are doing will smash a ground fighter before they are ever taken to the ground. Bruce Lee would be a great example of this. Could you imagine what he would have done to everyone in the ultimate fighting ??? It would have been a no-contest fight.

Bruce was the man, he would of been too quick for every competitor in the Ultimate Fighting scene. Also his brain was his biggest weapon and he would of turned everyones weakness against them. He is still the ultimate martial artist for mine
