The Government by October 2008 will hope to have completed their assessments of those in receipt of disablement benefits. If you cannot work because you have a disability, beware, under new rules people who claim benefits due to an illness or disability will be forced to do some sort of paid work. Anybody who claims sickness benefit will receive job seekers allowance, and will be expected to do work activity in return for benefits. The government are not interested in what you cannot do; only what you can do. For example if you are in a wheel chair and not in any pain which cannot be controlled by the new slow release OXYCONTIN drug, a controlled drug that over 12 hours release morphine. Until recently, anyone who had chronic pain was look after by his or her G’P who would control the amount of drugs received, and gets paid for treating a person with chronic pain. Now G.P's are paid on results and getting someone back into work is viewed as a result. You may have noticed that here in England G.P Surgeries are open four and a half days a week,(9am-5:30pm) no weekend surgeries. In Scotland, they voted in their own parliament to keep the old system. The English Parliament with the help of Scottish, Welsh, Irish MPs voted to change the whole of the Welfare State. With the minimum wage, the work place having to by new laws adapt to accommodate the disabled. The blind Home Secretary Mr Blunket was used to show that it did not matter if you had a disability the work place will now allow you to do some sort of work. Remember, work makes you free. When will the English wake up to what its people fought against only sixty years ago. Now is the time to step out and defend what millions fought for after two world wars namely a welfare state. 23rd April stand for your rights as an Englishman.

this is a pattern i keep seeing. people fought for certain rights and issues and established precidents, only to have the modern government totally turn it around.
it's like in seattle, wa, usa where a severely disabled girl was sterilized at the request of her parents. this is what they routinely did with mentally disabled people in the fifties... human rights groups worked hard to change it, and here we are letting it happen again.
it's absurd.

Can you give a link to where you got this info from?.
Also you mentioned "In Scotland, they voted in their own parliament to keep the old system", does this mean that this doesn't apply to people in Scotland?.

You must remember any government does not give a shit whether youre disabled or not.the people of the country are scum.
95% of the country is working, officially, though the true figure is 77% at best and the guv know it.
How can the government go on about trivial things, when they are planning on buying the new trident system, which will cost billions, which we dont need, and then we are looked like scroungers asking for a few pounds each week...........evil,but nothing but evil bastards.

This is appaling and the same thing is happening down-under. We must stand united in this fight for we are the mass, we are the gears and the cogs that keep this system going. It is us who keep this system afloat and without us it will surely crumble.
Demonocracy is about to collapse for this type of desperate inhumanity shall anger so many people who previosly thought they were living free. Perhaps this orwellian policy will wake many of the older generation up to the manipulation that is taking place though some will yeild like sheep and do what they are told, yet I personally know of quite a few older persons that will be charging Parliament House, Rambo styling it demanding some dignity.
