--Dear People Who Look Like Us

We cannot relate to your destructive nature
This world is swarming with aggressors, dominators
We do not know how but we will find out later
Because we are all children of the Creator
I have always been fascinated by falling snow
The stuff that prevents our flowers to grow
There is so much that I still don’t know
Since this went on eons years ago
The world was flourishing with life, flowing streams
The kind of clouds you see in dreams
But all of a sudden, laser beams
And the world’s a victim in an instant freeze, it seems
The Aurora, who knows its true source
Maybe it is driven by an alien force, but of course
I make these accusations without any remorse
I feel our orbit has been thrown off coarse
You cannot adjust to our sunny weather
Yet you have managed a way to live together
But I’ll never understand your ways of thinking, however
I cannot forget the tragic past that seems forever
Antarctica, it was once a tropical paradise
Now Atlantis, a mystery buried within the ice
Whatever happened, it wasn’t very nice
Because there was so much that was sacrificed
It was eternal sunshine, a world of infinite green
That was taken away because of your snow machine
Your air conditioner is making our skies unclean
The hole in the ozone is an example of what I mean
You’re convinced that I am not aware, but I care
About the freon polluting our breathing air
You came down from Cydonia not asking to share
But from out of nowhere, you control our planet and it isn’t fair
Whatever tragedy struck your home, it was wrong
We’re your neighbors, we welcome you with open arms
But you arrive here causing confusion and harm and
Disturbing our love for nature, peace and calm

Sounds like a spoiled child moaning that life doesn't work the way they think it ought to.

That's a bit harsh

I'm no literary critic, but it scans relatively well, references some decent research and comes across as sincere

I liked the "It wasn't very nice" line.

And I'm not sure many children, spoiled or otherwise, moan on a metaphysical level

Of course they do. "It's not fair" is inherently metaphysical, expecting fairness to be built (thus enabling the sense of hurt when one realises its not) into the world is a metaphysical expectation.

But yes, it was a bit harsh. I should have been more subtle but I don't know how.

Don't children consider their superiors as both the creator and arbiter of justice though? After all, it is the parent to whom the child appeals when he or she perceives injustice, is it not?

You didn't need to rag on the poem. Come on, Cosh. Why do that?

Truthfully IMO no its not. Time will come when we will stand on a hill together, perhaps, and say these things, stop what is wrong for good. Poems and such expressions and thought make good practice and expression is very important anyway. I practice acceptance and gratitude, but there are certain lies and uglinesses that are a thorn in the human spirit, a cause of needless and pointless suffering. We should try to change all this, IMO. Vive la revolution!

Disturbing our love for nature, peace and calm Yes, a very insightful/deep poem for one so young. You may be indigo, mountain. :) I like the reference to Atlantis/Antarctica. Another cataclysm like that may happen soon if we don't adjust the Earth's vibration to a higher one with LOVE.
