ROYAL hero Prince Harry has spoken of his relief at being treated like an ordinary soldier who can come home whenever he feels like it.

The Prince said he will now be able to look other soldiers in the eye when he is inspecting them and asking them what they do.

And he spoke of his satisfaction at being able to walk into the officers' mess, point to the portrait of the Queen, and say: "That's my gran, not yours."

The young millionaire said he now wants the government to engineer a war with Spain so he can fulfill his lifelong ambition of killing a Spaniard with his bare hands.

The Prince said: "I have enjoyed greatly the opportunity to kill people in Afghanistan. But now I would like to kill people a little closer to home.

"My grandfather has always wanted me to kill a Spaniard in hand to hand combat. I trust the prime minister will now oblige me."

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "At all times our military strategy is guided by the wishes of a 23 year-old millionaire trying to make up for getting pissed and dressing like a Nazi.

"It is our duty to ensure Prince Harry gets the chance to squeeze the life out of a Spaniard, even if we have to to tear up the Nato treaty and plunge Europe into years of pointless carnage."

Meanwhile, there was jubilation on London's Fulham Road where bar owners have been forced to lay off staff since trade collapsed two months ago.

A spokesman for Boujis nightclub said: "If he's only killing Spaniards it means he can still nip home at weekends for a skinful."

The MoD spokesman added: "This will lead inevitably to a change of tactics in Afghanistan, as the entire aparatus of the British Army will no longer be geared to protecting someone who isn't there."

Yknow..even though I cant abide the concept of war...I admire the fact that he went to fight, rather than ordering everyone else around from soem desk in Whitehall.

Funny writing, as usual though, Times :D

There is nothing heroic about fighting in a war based on lies.

Screw Harry and the rest of his inbred bloodline.

I don't think he did any fighting. I think he went there for a couple of days, well behind the lines and was filmed while giving orders on his radio. The 'leak' to the press was engineered to try and whip up public support for this ongoing and never ending debacle.

quote from times7

Yep... and he would also speak out against the war in Afghanistan (which in terms of 911 being a complete farce) is also illegal, let alone participate in it.

couldnt have said it better myself.

The cap he wore read "we do bad things to bad people" guess he means the villagers and normal soldiers trying to defend there homes and families.

If harry really wants to serve and be a 'hero' how about donating some of your millions to people in the world who need it.

My mind too. Were those photoes really taken in Afghanistan? The background looks more like Prestatyn beach to me! Has anyone heard of any reports of becahes being closed off by mysterious roadblocks recently?

This whole Harry stuff is crap .... I can't believe that people are taken in with it, it all looks so false to me. He looks better kitted out with gear than fecking action man.... and we have to remeber the number of troops killed due to lack of such equipment. Its sickening really -- a 'Its a Knockout' Joker by the governement/media to try and give some public backing to the conflict(s), the sad thing is it might bloody work....

He looks less deshevelled than I do when I come home on the bus of an evening!!

Prince Harry can F@ck off. I've had it up to here with the propaganda surrounding that stupid story. Not since Andrew flew a helicopter somewhere near the Atlantic ocean in 1982 have we had to endure such fawning drivle from the repeaters et al...

Grrr....

An absolute staged event to get the Sun readers behind our boys, and those stupid fools bought it too...

I sincerely hope that you're not naive enough to believe he "went to fight".

It's a PR excercise.

Harry was spending too much time getting drunk and photographed leaving clubs at 4am.

It'll also be a boost to army recruitment and it gives the Royal family the appearance of doing their bit for the country just like the thousands of worthless plebs who don't have Sweaty Betty for a grandmother.

I would also suspect that the Drudge report leak as well as the Australian news leak were allowed to happen so they could have a reason to pull him out of the line early.

Does anyone really think that Harry would be put into the thick of an actual firefight?...imagine being the commanding officer responsible for the death of the prince, it just wouldn't happen.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the masses.

They're so easy to hoodwink that they almost deserve what they get.

Harry takes after his mother... Young and Naive!

Before he went off as some kind of soldier I actually liked him, he seemed human.
