Ok some of will know of project Bluebeam..where virtual images are projected..into nothingness ?? But have you ever seen a demonstration of it ??

This 6 minuite video is a spin off from the Stuart Wilde Thread...I think you all should take 6 mins too see this...

I did a bit of digging and came on a military site in Australia...but I couldn't log into the MAIN area ...as it was a NO GO ZONE!! OK

Anyway....There was a vid there...so being curious I watched it...

Remember R2D2 projecting Princess Leia into thin air in the Star Wars Film ???

Imagine that on the Battlefield..I mean the Guy doing the presentation was "In" the "holographic" apache chopper....Imagine a FAKE alien invasion, also imagine projecting religious icons in the sky....this stuff is only the small stuff.

I watched that demo twice and maybe I missed something but it was not a true holographic display. The CGI images were not being projected onto the table or his hand. They were being merged with a live video feed and outputed to a screen and the live audience could only see the CGI objects when looking at the video output screen. This isn't to detract from potential applications of course but it's not R2D2 yet although it does make one think about what is available already in the military industrial complex.

I'm still reading about the blue beam project. ;)

Thanks true 3 David cracked a good egg there, I saw it in an update a while back...I was wandering bout those daylight saving hours too.

In UK WW2 the story was that it was done here, to keep the farmers in the field longer or some shit like that , so as to get the harvest in before the bombing raids ??

Maybe you're right but after all these years of exposure to the most fantastic CGI from Hollywood I am not so sure. It would have to be done for real and not using holographics and if also using sound waves, ELF et cetera, to control what people are thinking then why bother with the holographics in the first place?

I don't dismiss the technology nor the possibility for it to be abused when in the wrong hands but I'm just being objective.
