Hi all,

While watching the bit on Ickes Brixton lecture on subliminal advertising, the part where he showed the picture of the group of trees which had the word 'sex' in it. When he showed the picture again, he said we should all see just the word 'sex', not for me! I just saw the trees:eek: Does this mean I have a blocking system in me, where I am immune to this sort of thing?
What do you all think?

Peace & Light:)

The less you're aware of it, the more effective it is -- it will be unimpeded by your conscious mind and affect your unconscious directly, which is the entire purpose. You just need to know what to look for and pay more attention -- being aware of them consciously negates the effect.

The space between things can often contain hidden messages that slip through our conscious filtering system. With the nature of TV images being made up of millions of dots or pixels our brains have to work super fast to make sense of what it is seeing. In fact the brain reconstructs the entire 'image' in its entirety. This is possibly why people are a lot more susceptible to advertising whilst watching TV because the usual filters are overwhelmed whilst being transfixed.

Erh, no!:D Yeah, I can see it now! But I reckon it's a good thing it took such an obvious tactic to show me the word.

Uh, no, that's not a good thing. That's a bad thing.
