Taxmen demand blood
Polish taxmen are offering Poles the chance to pay their tax bills in blood.

Every donation to the local blood banks will allow Poles to write £30 off their tax bill.

Donors have to get a certificate from the hospital for every litre donated that can then be sent to the taxman and written off against their final tax demand.

Regular donor Dariusz Gryka, from the north-eastern town of Bialystok, said: "I learnt about it from an accountant friend and started to give blood last year.

"I have only done it three times, but already it has been worth it."

I don't know why, but I found this funny. :D :o

I hope the Polish people reject this idea. This seems suspect.

The background of this story is that many hospitals
suffer blood deficit. I don't remember if the problem is blood of certain type only.
Shortage of blood means less surgeries.

The fact is less and less number of people want to give their blood - as often as it used to be several years ago.
And I have no idea if Polish law give hospital permition to get
the blood from abroad.
I know it sounds funny - blood for tax bill...
Untill it works it save ppls lifes, dont' you think?

I don't exactly know, how other countries gain blood they need. Dont't they pay donors for their generous gift?
I belive they might do that in Holland yet?

I have bloodphobia so I never dig the subject.

I also find it interesting how so many blood samples get lost. A fair few friends have had to go back to the doctors to get samples retaken on more than one occasion.
....maybe im just being to suspicious though.

If the USA's taxes go to Israel, would their blood also if they adopted this practice?

I think that's a pretty cool idea. But at only £30 off per donation I hardly see much incentive.

Well in the UK you get nothing for donating.

Yeah I know. But £0 pounds £30 pounds, not much difference really. I mean all that inconvenience, having to go, wait in line, swear you didn't sleep with 12 prostitutes in Africa etc etc
I would do it for the good feeling (if I wouldn't keep missing the damn blood van) of having "helped" alone, but if I didn't care about that then I don't think a measly £30 is going to motivate me to get off my fat ass to wait in a blood donation line for 2 hours.

Im very suspicious too! There are loads of blood donors, where does all the blood go I wonder, surely they have more than enough for blood transfusions, perhaps the boundaries are breaking down and more blood is needed to prevent the reptilian shape-shifters from revealing their true forms
