Hi all
I just read this on the BBC News site & have a few concerns about it.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6468381.stm
Firstly I don't like the sound of GM ANYTHING, let alone insects. On the surface, it all seems like it's being done for the good of everyone, cutting down the cases of malaria etc, but I personally think nature will fight back in some way, with maybe more drastic measures than the ones they're trying to prevent. I also think this has the potential for far more nefarious ways of spreading new diseases & controlling populations.
Anyway, I'd be interested in your thoughts...

Thanks for the thread, Lookfar.

Well said there... I saw a paper headline today playing the drama queen...
'GM mosquitos offer hope to thousands'
:yawn yawn:
If they wanted to stop malaria, they'd have done so years ago. It's all fake drama... like hope can be created in a lab anyway!! What a way to manipulate people into accepting GM...

GM, mosquitos and malaria; three things that should not be used in the same sentence, paragraph, page, book OR library!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like your way of thinking on this issue, lookfar. Mother has supprised the illuminati in the past, it is, and will in the future. I just noticed, isn't the term "Mother nature" a state of mind?
I can see it now, gm mosquito, turns around and goes after the illuminati, too bad. Now here's kieth for the weather...:)

That's very worrying. Also, it says the insect is malaria resistant, but they don't say if it's still a carrier.

thanks ted! keith klaven here, your roving weather reporter.
today's headline: rain in wagga wagga!
in other stories, clouds of killer mosquitos have been seen swarming over windsor castle. let's peek inside for a closer look at the royals....

I have been saying for years that the weird scorpion things that come up out of the "bottomless pit" in the book of revelation are GMOs, and the "bottomless pit" represents the limitless potential of genetics.
One more step in the wrong direction.
BUT!!!!!
There's RAIN in WAGGA!!!!
So maybe we can stop all this destruction crap!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hi seamus
I totally agree about the reference referring to GMO's, it is certainly limitless & NOT good :(
Yey the rain got to Wagga & so much more can be achieved!!!! :)
