To the simple minded fool that said ‘There’s nothing wrong with cameras, they deter crime’ - if that is the case then why don’t they put the cameras in the places with the worst crime? ALL the cameras are clustered in civic spaces and town centres where crime is at it’s lowest. NONE of the cameras are on crime-ridden housing estates or in public parks where they might actually help prevent thefts, assaults, muggings or rapes. Yobs on housing estates can steal cars, go joy riding in them, then set fire to them and throw rocks at the firemen when they show up, and the police do NOTHING, and say ‘Our hands are tied.. there’s nothing we can do…’. But if your child drops a crisp on the ground in a town centre or if you skateboard or cycle in a pedestrian area the cameras will catch you and they’ll come down on you like a ton of bricks with their fines and intimidation. The cameras are NOT about stopping crime they are about Big Brother and SOCIAL CONTROL. You should read 1984 and WAKE THE HELL UP!
Wait until they beam there messages stright to their brain and hit them with a DEW !!!!!
