I've had pain in my ankles for a while now. Even after a good night sleep, if i get up it hurts a lot and i can't even walk properly. After sitting for a little while, the same happens. Every steps hurt a lot. If i have to go out ( i have no car) most of the time i walk a lot and after coming back my feet are killing me. A few days ago the top of my left foot was slightly swollen and very itchy. I am in constant pain but i hate taking tablets.
A couple of years ago i went to my gp because i was complaining of pain and swelling in my knees and my big toes but they found nothing.
I walk like an old granny, i am only 52!
I am very active and hate sitting down.
At the moment my feet are still a bit itchy, on the top, not under.
Any idea what it is?
Thanks for any advice

I'm also around that age and have similar symptoms. Menopause related?

The itchy feeling could be caused by high sugar in your body and if you develop a rash on your ankles or feet go to the hospital immediately and have your sugar checked. It could develop into ketoacidosis if your condition is diabetic related.
Matter of fact go get your blood sugar checked somewhere please, there are free checks around.

Thank you for the advice.
I went to my gp for my toes and knees about a year ago and he sent me to do some xrays and some blood tests but they found nothing. But i don't know what sort of blood tests they did, i think it was for crystals, because he thought i had gout.
At the moment my feet are still itchy and so much in pain. Whenever i walk it's excruciating.
As for the menopause, it started when i was 41 years old.
As soon as the holidays are finished i'll make an appointment with my gp, who i think is useless :( We'll see what he is gonna do.
Thanks everyone!

You need to examine the ingredients in everything you're eating and drinking, especially, look at the salt you buy (if it contains ferrous cyanide or any name resembling cyanide don't eat it). MSG (monosodium glutamate) is another ingredient to avoid like the plague.
Feet itching could be athlete's foot, something you can pick up in changing rooms (you can buy a cream for this or get it on prescription) and if your footwear needs refreshing can make it worse (try talcum powder in your shoes). A person who suffers from gout is usually partial to port or wine. If you're consuming alcohol it might be a good idea to cut back.
Edit: Try to avoid fluoride, use bicarbonate of soda to clean your teeth and filter your water.
