Lol roxanna!! :D
I'm certain you're not the only one who has lied (for whatever reason) to a loved one. We sometimes lie to protect someone (or ourselves) at the time, but its not always the best choice for us or them in the long run.
If you're feeling bad and suffering inside about something you've not been honest about to someone you care about, perhaps you'd like to discuss it further? By the same token, if you don't feel comfortable speaking about this, please don't feel obliged to expand any further.
Just remember though....you are amongst friends here. :)

I think it's possible to tell a harmless untruth and not be "lying". Lying has to do with destructive intent.
my 2 cents

i wonder if sometimes i haven't told my wife things that happened before we met just to relieve my own guilt. there's a fine line between a reasonable expectation of transparency in a marriage, and handing my partner my bag of poo and say, "you deal with it for a while".
does that make any sense?

i was a drug addict for close on 5 years, there is very little i haven't lied about, and i was not protecting anyone but me, of course all i did was a dig a huge hole for myself, but i only saw that clearly once i was clean.

I have ...lied loads over how to get Alcohol, Like Lumakanda I was addicted , but to alcohol.
I've navigated that particular obtsacle on my path, learned from it and moved on ahead.
I still keep it as a useful defeated ally now, to remind myself not to be lured out by it again.
I've heard it said that every time you lie a black lie,you murder a piece of the world, and yourself.
I think a harmless white lie is ok really, if there is anyone on here that has never lied...then he/she is a liar too.
All ways be looking at that next level IMHO.:) 5months clean today. hoooray!!

we are all liars and cheaters in different degrees. we were born into lies and we made them a way of our life, so that we can be with everyone inside society. in a society of liars, if you are the truth teller, you are the enemy.
but all lies we have ever said and all sinister acts we have ever done, we did them to ourselves. if we lie, we lie to ourselves. it is ourselves we want to protect, because of fear.
there is no lie when there is no fear. but, who is brave enough?

To Quote George Orwell
"In a world of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
And I'm plenty brave enough.Too.
