I just went to see this movie "Amazing Grace" on whim. 18 hrs on my feet and I'm exhausted, when I went and watched this film. I never lost focus for one frame of time. We never get taught the really good stuff here in the United States it seems.
For those of you interested in UK's history and the record of slavery's abolishment, consider this tale of William Wilberforce. Courage like his is much needed in both the UK and the US.
Although the screenplay rests on non-fiction events, I have no disappointments with the film. If anything this solidifies my opinions after reading, Ben Franklin and Fredrick Douglas's autobiographies.
It's outrageous propaganda, they'll say don't see that trash. The movie wasn't advertised. If so for whom and for what purpose? I don't think its a mystery. A moving movie experience and period drama of the early 1800s does not come by very often.
Key influences on the movie are parliament, the French and American revolution's effect in the UK, and succeeding where failure was the easiest option against the greatest known forces put on the face of the planet at that time.
If it's a reason you need for watching this movie, this highlights how a David can slay a Goliath. And I submit this humble review for you to inquire seeing more from its trailer at your local movie trailer preview thing. Thank you for reading, I'm headed off to the lands of Morpheus, Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod.
