Cowell: I'm The Boss

Simon Cowell has claimed that he's five times more successful than Bruce Springsteen.

In an interview with US TV show "60 Minutes", the "X Factor" judge and label boss questioned Sony BMG's decision to pay Springsteen an advance of $100m.

He told interviewer Anderson Cooper: "I sell more records than Bruce Springsteen, sure.

"In the last five years I've sold over 100m records. If he got $100m, I should have got $500m."

Cowell, who works for Sony BMG and launched the careers of Gareth Gates and Shayne Ward, recently took a swipe at another rock veteran in the shape of Bob Dylan.

In January, the music mogul derided Dylan as a "singing poet" who "bores me to tears".

Amen! and thats before you factor in all the "gear" floating around in music industry circles ;)

The whole shows a bad joke. The kids have to sing songs by other famous singers form centurys ago(sarcasm) They're not encouraged to develop their own style of singing, or write their own songs this is karaoke at it's worst or the equivalent. How can a kid make themselves sound like some pop star. It's almost impossible.

The along comes Mr Cowell with his snide comments to reduce the poor kids to tears.

Guess all you got to look forward to from this years winner is a compilation of old songs rehashed which sound far worse than the original songs. Why bother when you could listen to the original artists who do it much better.

I don't follow the shows, but have seen enough and heard enough.

Dunno, I like shows like this for its music value. Even though I don't own any country music CD's I'll watch "Nashville Star" also, sometimes, because I really enjoy people that make it look so effortless.

Some can sing like larks and others should just go home. I don't watch all the contestants because I think most of them are a joke this year, but I do think that Lakisha is the bomb and I really love Blake (although he's not consistent)

So a snotty little school drop-out who makes money off other people's talent is saying he's better than a legend who makes his own money, based on his own talents? Was Cowell making a joke or something?

Personally, I can't see why the world isn't as bored of him as he claims to be of all the "talentless hacks" that go to him with a dream and a nickel...
