Today seemed "A Good Day To Bury Bad News" so to speak, so I was watching out for certain things over the fake financial crisis, created so the elite can buy up panic shares.. well i found it weird that this gets posted early hours..

LONDON (AFP) (http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080123/tpl-britain-politics-immigration-securit-5b839a9_1.html) - Britons will not be required to have ID cards until 2012, two years later than originally planned, the opposition Conservatives claimed on Tuesday, citing leaked government documents they obtained.

The interior ministry documents apparently targeted "Borders Phase II (UK Citizens)" as set to begin in 2012, though those in "trusted relationships", such as security guards, will have to obtain ID cards earlier.

When legislation for ID cards was first approved in 2006, the original deadline for Britons renewing their passports to be in possession of ID cards was January 2010.

In response to the opposition's claims, the interior ministry said that "a date has not been fixed" for a full rollout of ID cards.

A spokesman for the Identity and Passport Service, while declining to comment directly on the Conservatives' claims, said: "We have always said that the scheme will be rolled out incrementally."

Foreign nationals resident in Britain will begin receiving ID cards later this year, with the documents expected to be issued to British citizens on a voluntary basis from 2009.

According to the original Act of parliament on the subject, passed in 2006, compulsory ID cards cannot be mandated unless both the House of Commons and Lords vote in favour of the plan -- at present, the opposition Conservatives and Liberal Democrats oppose the proposals.

The government's plans for ID cards have drawn criticism on the grounds that they will arguably not help to combat international terrorism, and infringe on civil liberties.

The idea has also been hurt by recent government losses of citizens' personal data, in particular the loss of 25 million Britons' personal information by a government agency two months ago.

Unlike its continental European neighbours, Britain has never had a mandatory ID card scheme other than in wartime, but the idea has gathered momentum since the deadly July 2005 suicide bombings in London.

Some may see this as good news... being put back a few years.. but it tells me it is already something we HAVE to accept..whenever they decide to impliment it!.

Can't even get a bank account unless you have a driving licence or passport, couldn't even get a joint account with my husband. Brilliant, what on earth do you have to do, apply for a passport when I don't even travel abroad and get a car licence even if I don't drive.:p

Well I dont have a driving license or a passport, I do have a bank account tho, I did hear that if I want to take all my money out, I would need either a passport or driving license, that hasnt happened yet and I would probably lose the plot if they dont let me take out all my money! I did hear somebody saying that they may put chips into the id cards (instead of us maybe) and the chips will 'influence' us. Would it be a good idea to wrap the cards in aluminium foil if that were to happen?

I did once have a link on aluminium foil hats, to stop the harmful rays entering your heads. Well that was just a suggestion, I wouldnt myself go out in one of those because I know what the people around here would say and do. And probably end up in the nut house. I don't think they could stand me in there, I would probably drive everyone the same way. Not meaning I am nutty, just full of fun and laugh at most things.:D

Laughter is brilliant! I have a friend of mine who has just got into this, he has a wicked sense of humour, most needed sometimes! As for the tinfoil hats, if it came to that I will be joining you, hopefully there will be enough people in the know by then, they cant lock all of us up, perhaps many people will join us? :D

I find strong magnets work wonders on them and if your still not trusting it- microwave will finish the job! Just a few seconds and wallah, its done.
As far as the bank account - just write yourself alot of checks until you know its about $15 left - close the account. No passport or d.l. needed. ;)

This is so ludacris. I can't believe how many people are just accepting this. I hear all the time that these are "for our own good". My own good!! I don't think so.

Honestly, I know that there are not terrorist lurking on every corner in my neighborhood. I am not tapping into the fear that the illuminati is trying to put into our consciousness in regards to all the crap about terrorists.

Thanks for letting me rant.

I agree with both you are singlespirit 1, the way things in the news speaks you would expect terroists hiding around every corner. It could make you frightened to walk outside your house. Surely there is more for us to worry about than that. Terrorism is a problem, but in these days, not having to be counted like this is more like we are treated as cattle. Why when we are born we don't have a tattoo on us, similar to what they did with the Jews during the last war. Then the mark would be there for life, that is what they are trying to do to us. And knowing we are committed to one Big Brother. I DON'T THINK SO.;)
